Job Overview

The Accountant will manage the full set of accounts, ensure compliance with financial regulations, and produce accurate financial reports. You will play a key role in budgeting, financial forecasting, and ensuring timely financial submissions and audits, directly contributing to JWB's ability to fulfill its mission.

Key Responsibilities

• Full Set of Accounts: Manage the General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, bank reconciliations, cash receipts, and cash forecasting.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, balance sheets, P&L statements, and management reports.
• GST & Taxation: Submit quarterly GST filings and manage tax computations in compliance with Singapore regulations.
• Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial schedules.
• Cash Flow & Forecasting: Manage cash flow projections and optimize liquidity to meet operational needs.
• Coordinate and file for various government grants (e.g. National Heritage Board) and financial management of various renovation projects.
• Compliance & Audit: Ensure compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, coordinate annual audits, and maintain strong internal controls.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Educational Background: Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or CPA/CA qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience with management reporting and supervisory responsibilities.
• Tax & Compliance Knowledge: Strong understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards, tax regulations, and the Companies Act.

Responsibilities:

1. Financial & Accounting Duties

• Extract, transform, load and analyze incoming data from various departments and fit it into our accounting systems for recording and reporting purposes.
• Handle monthly and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure all financial transactions are accounted for.
• Prepare budgets in collaboration with various departments and monitor financial variances.

2. IT Responsibilities:- Display a proactive ability to self-learn and adapt to various applications used in the organization, including Stripe, WooCommerce, HR, and various POS software.

• Offer assistance in resolving miscellaneous IT issues that arise periodically, collaborating with IT vendors or consultants when needed.
