Key Responsibilities:

Stocking and Inventory Management:

• Restock shelves with products, ensuring proper rotation and display.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers warmly and assist them with inquiries.
• Provide product information and recommendations.

Store Maintenance:

Checkout Assistance:

Position Title: In Store Gourmet Butcher
Location: Central, Novena Area

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated butcher to join our gourmet store team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for high-quality meat products, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. As a butcher, you will be responsible for preparing, cutting, and processing a variety of meats while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.

Key Responsibilities:

• Meat Preparation: Cut, trim, marinate and package meat products according to specifications and customer orders.
• Quality Control: Inspect meat for quality, freshness, and safety; discard any products that do not meet standards.
• Customer Service: Assist customers with their meat selections, provide recommendations, and answer any questions about products.
• Equipment Maintenance: Operate and maintain meat cutting tools and equipment such as mincer, vacuum pack machine, ensuring they are clean and in good working order.
• Inventory Management: Assist in managing inventory levels, including receiving shipments and organizing storage.
• Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all food safety and sanitation regulations; maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Training and Development: Mentor and train new staff on best practices in meat preparation and customer service.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience as a butcher or in a similar role preferred.
• Knowledge of meat cuts, preparation techniques, and food safety practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to lift heavy items and stand for long periods.
• Knowledge of the use & maintenance of dry-aged fridges is a plus.
• Certification in food safety is a plus.

Working Conditions:

• Able to stand long hours.
• Confident to provide the necessary cut based on request, in front of customer.
• Requires physical stamina and the ability to lift up to 30 kg of meat box.
