POSITION SUMMARY
The Customer Master and Membership Manager is responsible for the overall quality and accuracy of enterprise-level and business-specific customer master file records, as well as relationships between these records and external data sources such as GPO membership rosters, supplier contract notifications, etc.
The Manager is responsible for a team of specialists who create, update, and inactivate customer records in order to support daily operational requirements of the business. The Manager is also responsible for a team of analysts who research and implement membership relationships, in support of customer pricing contracts. Both teams are also responsible for the integration of data records from disparate business-level systems into the shared enterprise-level system.
This role will be responsible for strategic development of changes and improvements to the master data systems, as well as the tactical implementation of those changes, including testing, change management, training, quality metrics, etc. The Manager is considered to be a top-level subject matter expert on the structure and function of the customer master data and membership systems, and will be called upon to consult with multiple groups within the organization regarding the use and consumption of the data.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Manage the customer master file team and the membership team, ensuring that they have the resources necessary to perform their daily functions, and that their work and priorities are aligned with the needs of the organization
- Support the teams where needed during periods of heavy workload, and assist with unusual or specialized cases which are outside standard procedure.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and develop a business case for development, testing, and implementation of process improvements.
- Develop and maintain data quality metrics and audit reporting to support the long term health of the master data. Report on data health and present plans for addressing deficiencies.
- Ensure application of Corporate Financial Policies, establish and maintain internal control procedures within area of responsibility.
- Maintain a high level of customer service in all aspects of the job functions. Act as a liaison with the Contract and Pricing Team, Product Master File team, Contract Administration team, and other stakeholders within the organization.
Qualifications
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business or closely related field
- Broad-based knowledge of the Health Care Industry, including GPOs, IHN organizations, and distribution (preferred)
- 7 or more years of experience in any of the following: finance, commercial analytics, strategic pricing, contract analysis or closely related field (preferred)
- A minimum of 4 years direct supervisory experience
- Knowledge of SAP systems, Power BI, and/or other business analytics platforms (preferred)
- Master data and group membership experience (preferred)
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Technical: Expert knowledge of MS Office (Excel/Word); SAP systems.
- Must have leadership qualities including customer-centric, global mindset, results-driven, collaborative, candor and speed.
- Key skills required are excellent analysis capability, excellent written and oral communication skills, motivated to learn and teach.
- The ability to quickly learn and leverage systems, as well as understanding of system interrelationships.
