About Us: We are a leader in the metal recycling industry, focusing on the processing and trading of ferrous and non-ferrous scrap metals. We are seeking a skilled and hands-on Metal Recycling Supervisor to oversee our daily operations and ensure efficient processing while maintaining safety standards.
Job Description: The Metal Recycling Supervisor will be responsible for managing the daily activities on the shop floor, overseeing the processing of various scrap metals, and ensuring that all work is carried out safely and efficiently. This role requires hands-on skills in identifying ferrous and non-ferrous metals, as well as the ability to work in challenging environments, including dusty, noisy, and hazardous conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the recycling team, including the sorting, processing, and loading of scrap metals.
- Identify, inspect, and classify ferrous and non-ferrous metals to ensure proper handling and processing.
- Operate and oversee the use of recycling equipment and machinery, ensuring safe and efficient operation.
- Work in a challenging 3D environment that may include exposure to dust, noise, and hazardous conditions; ensure adherence to safety protocols at all times.
- Train and guide team members on best practices for sorting and processing materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the operations team for material movement.
- Inspect the work area to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any operational issues that may arise.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a supervisory role within the metal recycling or a related industrial sector.
- Strong hands-on skills in identifying ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
- Experience working in challenging environments, including exposure to dust, noise, and hazardous conditions.
- Ability to operate recycling machinery and equipment.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as the role may require physical effort.
