Squires Loft has built a reputation for two of the most important ingredients in hospitality- excellent food and friendly service. Our South Yarra location is looking for an industry professional with a passion for food and wine, to lead the floor team and kitchen staff in an Restaurant Manager's role.
If you are genuinely passionate about good food and wine, have the ability to work 38 hours per week including weekends and night shifts in a fast paced environment, enjoy being part of a team and have excellent communication skills, we want to hear from you!
The successful candidate must have:
• Be a seasoned professional with at least two years of experience managing or supervising a wine bar or restaurant.
• Create a positive influence on the floor, always looking to ensure the best customer experience takes place.
• Supervise the taking and confirmation of bookings to ensure a smooth flow of service.
• Ensure the safety of staff and patrons during service and after leaving the premises
• Expertise mixing drinks, coffees and the ability to alternate from the bar to the floor when needed.
• Availability on weekends.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Australian wine is a must - WSET training will be highly regarded.
• Appropriate skills in training floor staff according to Squires Loft training guidelines.
• Ability to successfully train and supervise both floor and bar staff.
• Support the Grill Chef in the management of the kitchen.
• Balance the register at the end of the shift ensuring a high level of accuracy and honesty.
• Maintain wage costs within company guidelines and customer spending above agreed figures
• Conduct daily and monthly stocktakes to maintain stock control and security
• Lead the team in ensuring dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean, functional and of suitable appearance.
• Maintain hygienic food handling practices and cleanliness of all waiting and bar staff.
