Serco are recruiting for a Merlin Helicopter Force Support Coordinator to join the team based at RNAS Culdrose in Cornwall. This role forms part of the AESAS team and will manage the requirements for ASE/ASSE/HUSLE, modular Support and tooling to support Merlin Helicopter Force (MHF) tasking. This role will also oversee the maintenance and control of ASE/ASSE/HUSLE, modular support and tooling AinU’s and act as the MHF lead Joint Asset Management and Engineering Solution (JAMES) Officer subject matter expert and mentor on site.
Main Accountabilities:
- Assisting MHF units with the preparation and recovery of Squadron mobile equipment.
- Providing ASE/ASSE/HUSLE subject matter expert advice and mentoring to MHF SSRs when required.
- Provide subject matter expert advice in order to produce standardised ASE/ASSE/HUSLE risk assessments and COSHH assessments for MHF and conduct termly, minutes reviews with MHF Support Senior Rates (SSRs)
- Provide subject matter expert advice and assistance to MHF SSRs for the booking, transportation and packing of Squadron mobile equipment (including ISO container packing and transport of dangerous goods)
- MHF Support Equipment Coordinator is authorised to:
- Liaise with DSAE(M) and CPOMER in all areas regarding JHC, DT or Navy Command relating to their primary purpose.
- Liaise with TAS internal units/sections and appropriate Industry parties on matters concerned with primary and secondary purposes.
- Sign all engineering documentation as appropriate in pursuance of his primary and secondary purposes.
- Support Equipment Coordinator is to liaise daily/weekly with Sqn SSR’s on all matters relating to ASSE/GSE/HUSLE, Modular Support and Tooling. From this, assess and action where necessary (i.e., movement of assets/escalation of issues/conduct servicing) to maintain Sqn OC
- Aid the Sqn’s in the preparation/recovery of embarked support equipment as required by MHF OPS schedule.
- Update relevant electronic data tracking systems on completion of servicing conducted.
- Conduct Mobile Scissor lift and Maritime staging instructional duties when requested by MHF Sqn’s.
- Produce/Review Support Risk/COSHH assessments where necessary.
- Ensure the Serco AESAS Support Manager is to be made aware of all business risks.
- Ensure all verbal and written customer complaints and Quality issues are brought to the attention of the Serco AESAS Support Manager
What you’ll need to do the role:
- Must have 5 years’ experience in military/industry airworthiness environment equivalent
- Recent Merlin HM MK2 experience at MAM-P Authority Level G
- Write-access to RESOLVE, JAMES, GOLDesp, MJDI and CIETP electronic systems
- FG011SSC or equivalent
- Trained to conduct servicing on ASE/GSE/HUSLE equipment.
- Certified to deliver Mobile Scissor Lift and Maritime Staging training
- Ability to be a trained ISO packer
- To be able to be a certified as a Risk Assessor
- Be certified as a Tool Controller
- Completed all mandatory MoD, NCHQ and local training courses iaw extant policy and regulation pertinent to civilian contract personnel working within the RNAS Culdrose Military Maintenance Organisation (MMO)
- A good working knowledge of the following OF Health and Safety, the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) Regulations, Tool Control and Quality Practices, Engineering and Asset Management Systems
- Completed a Maintenance Human Factors Course
- An understanding and proven experience of Airworthiness Engineering Safety and Compliance iaw Regulatory and Legislative requirements (MAA and MAOS)
- Good people management experience
- A good capability to work productively, efficiently & effectively with initiative and drive under tight timescales and pressure whilst maintaining operational outputs
