Director of Chaplaincy at the St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust
Term: 37 hours per week, Full Time
Salary: Grade 10 or 11 (£42,403 - £51,515) Negotiable dependent on experience.
An opportunity has arisen for a new and exciting post within the St Cuthbert’s Roman Catholic Academy Trust. Reporting directly to the CEO, this post will play a key role in supporting the Bishop’s Vision:
“To make Christ known and loved through the provision of excellent Catholic education and schools intent on finding Christ in their daily lives and sharing that encounter with others.”
The successful applicant for the Director of Chaplaincy role will unite our understanding of chaplaincy and inspire the practice of chaplaincy within the central team and across the trust.
Our vision for chaplaincy mirrors that of the Middlesbrough Diocese, providing focus, direction and inspiration for the whole trust and school communities so that all they do, say and are, continually points to the truth revealed in the person of Jesus Christ.
Whilst we accept that this isn’t the work of a single person, but the work of every person undertaking the trust’s mission, we are looking for an inspirational practising Catholic to help us make this a reality. You will have a team of Chaplains to support you in your work and the chance to set the trust’s strategic direction.
Your charisms, talents and passions will be a hugely important part of your daily contact with young people and adults, sharing your experience of the Catholic faith. Along with your team, you will have the opportunity to shape and mould collaborative ministry so that you reach every aspect of trust and school life ensuring that Christ is at the centre.
Are you the person that can ensure that chaplaincy is the engine room behind our Catholic life? Can you help to build a culture of encounter which will unite our trust’s purpose?
Please do not hesitate to get in touch by contacting Naomi Bedworth NBedworth@smchull.org who will put you in touch with our CEO, Rachel McEvoy for an informal conversation.
For further information about the role please see the applicant information pack/job description/person specification.
Completed forms should be sent via email to HR@smchull.org
Closing date: 12 noon on Friday 19th July 2024.
