Duties
Setting up scaffolding and ladders, along with drop sheets to safeguard surrounding areas from paint splatters.
Preparing surfaces by stripping old paint and wallpaper, repairing woodwork, filling holes and cracks, and smoothing and sealing the surfaces.
Selecting and mixing paints to achieve the desired colours by combining pigments, oils, and additives for thinning and drying.
Applying paints, varnishes, and stains using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
Hanging wallpaper, ensuring pattern alignment and trimming edges neatly.
Cleaning tools and workspaces after completing the job.
Performing window repairs and replacing glass in both wooden and metal frames as needed.
Laying and repairing wall and floor tiles as required.
Skill and Experience
2 years’ work experience as a Painting Trades Worker
Relevant trade qualification is preferred but not mandatory
