The School of Computing, Engineering and Digital Technologies (SCEDT) enjoys an excellent reputation for innovation and our teaching staff combine academic excellence, world-class research and industrial experience. It offers a diverse range of accredited undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and delivers a number of active research projects in these areas.
We have an opportunity for an individual with a wealth of experience to contribute to an innovative UK-funded project titled “FermoChar: Fermentation residue into engineered char-based materials for sustainable industrial applications; pathway to NetZero”.
You will have the responsibility of validating an innovative approach for valorising the fermentation residue of biomanufacturing industries into bespoke char-based materials and assessing the environmental impact of implementing such a technology.
The position will focus on two main work packages, including assessing the environmental impact of implementing the developed technology in biomanufacturing industries and supporting the validation the experimental valorisation of fermentation residue into bespoke char-based materials.
