Based at our Stephenson Campus
The SMB College Group is a highly successful FE college, formed of two merged and reputable colleges – Stephenson College and Brooksby Melton College. Specialising in land-based, technical, trade and creative arts, we provide an extensive curriculum from Agriculture to Animal Care, Construction to Sport, Hair & Beauty to Care. We are an innovative and highly responsive centre for education and training with campuses in Coalville, Melton Mowbray and Brooksby. We are looking for an Engineering/Welding Lecturer with the ability to deliver across the full range of the department's provision (Full time, part time and commercial courses). You may currently be working in an engineering or welding setting looking for your first job in teaching. If your qualifications, skills and experience include those related to an Engineer (Welding) role we would like to hear from you. We would like a lecturer with a passion for the engineering sector and innovation who will bring new ideas and latest industrial knowledge to the directorate to share with others.
Working as part of the engineering team you will be responsible for the delivery and development of courses. You will possess an excellent knowledge and understanding of Welding theory and practical applications and be able to plan and use a range of effective and appropriate teaching and learning techniques.
We hope to add value to our team during this process taking on a person with a passion to share their current knowledge and experience with others. Who has worked in industry throughout their careers, and who would like to support the SMB Groups electrical provision to continually improve year on year, this can be done by offering what our customers what and exceed their expectations.
As well as your relevant experience and current knowledge, you will also be willing to obtain a relevant teaching qualification (DTLLS, PGCE or equivalent) if you do not already possess one.
