Our client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, are seeking an experienced Senior Configuration Engineer to serve as the focal point for Configuration Management (CM) support for project and functional stakeholders. This opportunity has the potential for contract extension or permanent employment and offers a hybrid work arrangement with 2-3 days working onsite.
As a Senior Configuration Engineer, you will investigate and implement engineering change management based on product definitions.
What we're looking for:
- Background knowledge in Configuration Control or Technical Data Management within a Defence or Aerospace industry or similar.
- Proven experience working in a similar role within the defence sector: Candidates from other industries such as Automotive, Aerospace, Pharmaceutical, etc., with practical experience including Bill of Material Engineers, Material Requirements Planning Analysts, Engineering Change Engineers, Technical Data Managers, etc., will also be considered.
- Experience with MS Office and data systems (Windchill an advantage)
- Good interpersonal and organisational skills with good attention to detail
- CM2 certification (essential)
What you'll get to do as a Senior Configuration Engineer:
The chosen candidate will apply Configuration Management principles and processes, interpret technical data, manage access and technical signatories, review and implement engineering design changes, and support regular meetings. They will also schedule diaries, generate agendas and reports, chase non-conformities, and support technical audits on our suppliers.
Furthermore, the candidate will support technical audits on our suppliers, ensuring Configuration Management processes are observed throughout our supply chain.
