- Develops and implements the Districts vision/ strategy, integrating multiple key program goals and priorities, providing long-term direction and guidance for land management.
- Apply policies/programs of the Department of the Interior in the management of multiple-use programs on public lands including formulating strategic program plans that assess policy/program feasibility and include short and long-term goals/objectives
- Promoting quality through effective use of the performance management system, valuing cultural diversity, fostering an environment where people work together cooperatively and effectively
- Establishing and enhancing working relationships within the District as well as other BLM Districts/Congressional delegations/public land user groups/public organizations/Tribes, other federal agencies and appropriate State and local governments.
- Performs personnel management tasks such as making selections for district positions; Establishing/evaluating performance standards; maintaining discipline; hearing/resolving complaints and grievances.
- Consulting with specialists on training needs, taking disciplinary actions as necessary; resolving employee complaints, and approving or rejecting personnel actions.
