CACI seeks a talented individual to join our team as a Chief Systems Engineer supporting the Systems Engineering management and direction of a large program, within the National Security and Innovative Solutions Sector.
As a forward-thinking, technically minded Chief Systems Engineer, you will lead and provide technical direction to a team of System Engineers. Your technical leadership will enable stakeholders to achieve Missile Defense (MD) mission objectives in the following technical areas: Enterprise Information Environment, and Research Development Test & Evaluation (RDT&E) IT Services and Solutions, Missile Defense System (MDS) Mission IT Support and Solutions, MDS Mission Operations, MD Integration & Operations Center (MDIOC) Facility Operations and Sustainment, and Systems Engineering & Integration.
The Chief Systems Engineer will lead systems engineering lifecycle implementation and process improvement and implementation activities across several disciplines including configuration management, reporting systems and software build and delivery, risk management, quality assurance, and customer engagement. You will also apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Requirements Analysis, Architecture Design, Implementation, Verification and Validations, Transition, Support, and Disposal. You will interact with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts, and communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Systems Engineering leadership and implementation according to IEC 15288 guidelines.
- Enterprise Implementation of Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) principles including digital twin, digital triad methods across multiple contractors
- Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of project’s technical design.
- Assist in developing a new or innovative approach to a technical or engineering issue.
- Assist in conducting an evaluation to determine its suitability for project implementation.
- Analyze and propose appropriate engineering standards and processes for a project.
- Supervise or coordinate the work of other contractor engineers or technicians on a project.
- Lead contractor systems engineering activities for a project to include supervising the work of the project engineering staff and technicians.
- Serve as a Subject Matter Expert in one or more Systems Engineering Process Areas.
- Brief stakeholders and present the status on all technical aspects of their project.
- Independently make decisions regarding engineering issues and methodology for a project.
- Plan and develop engineering projects with unique or complex aspects that impact major capabilities of high priority to the enterprise.
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
- TS/SCI security clearance.
- A Bachelor’s degree in a Qualified Engineering Field or a related discipline from an accredited college plus fifteen (15) years of systems engineering experience.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional Certification (CSEP) or Expert Systems Engineering Professional certification desired.
- Prior experience implementing enterprise-wide Model Based Systems Engineering concepts and principles.
- Must have SME-level knowledge in the following areas:
- Systems Engineering.
- Complex software sustainment and modernization.
- Demonstrated clear and effective oral and written communications skills, particularly regarding technical solutioning and proposal development.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office products, to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to travel as required.
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
- Master’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited college plus thirteen (13) years of systems engineering experience.
- Prior Missile Defense Agency acquisition or program experience.

$152,900-$336,400
