As a Supervisory Contract Specialist, GS-1102-14, makes you a valuable member of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC) team and mission. This position is within the Procurement Division (PRO) under the Mission and Readiness Support Directorate (MRSD) of the Federal Law Enforcement Training Centers (FLETC).The primary purpose of the position is to plan, negotiate and manage, as branch chief and contracting officer, the procurement of a wide variety of complex services, supplies, IT, construction, A-E, lease agreements, and training equipment.

Typical duties include:

Serves as an agency expert on workforce development programs, including highly complex and unusual issues, and is recognized as a subject matter expert in the field.

In this Emergency Management Specialist (Recovery) position, you will be responsible for supporting disaster financial management and all associated components aligned within the division.

Typical assignments include:

• Coordinate with agency officials, internal stakeholders, and external customers to prepare and adjust entries to ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Review various financial reports on a recurring basis.
• Serve as Operations Support Specialist/Task Force Leader in the Disaster Grants Financial Management and Compliance Unit.

This announcement is for a position as a CORE (Cadre of On-Call Response/Recovery Employee). CORE employees are full-time employees hired to directly support the response and recovery efforts related to disasters. Employees are hired under the Robert T. Stafford Act and are excluded from the provisions of title 5, United States Code, governing jobs in the competitive service. They can be hired under a streamlined process instead of a competitive process. After three years of continuous service, Stafford Act employees may be granted competitive eligibility to apply for permanent full-time positions at FEMA.

This position will be hired into a temporary 4 year, excepted service appointment. Appointments may be renewed based on workload, funding, and supervisory approval.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPERVISION 25% (includes, but not limited to):
. . Monitors Community Recreation programs to ensure Navy Program standards are met or exceeded.
