ABOUT US Oasis Academy Daventry Road is a brand new 11-16 co-educational academy that opened in south Bristol in September 2023 it is a growing start up school which currently has 7 and 8 pupils only. The academy will continue to grow and will eventually move to our permanent site on Daventry Road. Within our cohort, there are high numbers of pupils with SEND needs hence the need to recruit additional staff to the team. Our current SEN department is comprised of myself, the SENDCO, a lead Teaching Assistant and a small team of teaching assistants. The role will incorporate some 1:1 and in class support as well as specific requirements within the SEN department and across the academy. As our pupils are in Key Stage 3, relationship building with our young people is key. Within the team, we currently have a Speech and Language specialist and ELSA practitioner; moving forward we are looking extend our team to include specialist TA's in literacy and numeracy.We are looking for a strong team player to join our supportive TA team. You should have excellent communication skills and ideally, experience of working with young people, particularly those with SEND needs. This can be a fast- paced environment and you will need to be enthusiastic, positive, flexible, patient and resilient.
