JOB DESCRIPTION
This role is to manage the commercial operations of the company’s business in the Southeast Asia/Oceania territory through direct sales and the agent’s and distributor’s sales force as well as to implement the strategy of the company.
Based in Southeast Asia, the Regional Sales Manager will work closely with the General Manager based in Singapore and the Customer Service team. The key responsibility is to drive profitable growth, commercial and technical excellence, and to deliver the sales budget of the personal care and pharmaceutical ingredients and directly manage the agents and distributors in the Southeast Asia/Oceania territory.
The position reports to the General Manager.
Responsibilities
• Manage and supervise the agents and distributors business in the Southeast Asia/Oceania territory.
• To develop, implement, and follow up on the progress of the personal care and/or pharmaceutical business, key projects, and action plans to achieve the sales budget, and objectives in close coordination with the regional technical support, the marketing team, and customer service.
• Prepare annual budget for the Asia Pacific territory and analyze the markets and trends on a quarterly basis.
• Deliver the set objectives.
• Update market information and work with the agents and distributors to identify growth opportunities.
• Monitor competitive activities in the Asia Pacific
• Promote innovation and strategic products, organize seminars, and participate in trade shows.
• Liaise with the academic community.
• Ensure all relevant parties receive complete information on customers and their specific requirements, non-conformance, regulatory affairs, complaints, and market trends in the Asia Pacific territory.
• Achieving Revenue and quantity target for the Year and setup the targets for the coming year.
• Access the revenue performance of the business in Asia Pacific region on monthly basis and take steps to make up for shortfall versus plan.
• Every year prepare a detailed strategy for Asia Pacific region for Pharmaceutical and Cosmetics and review its progress time to time with distributors and implement action plan for the coming month.
• Prepare the annual forecast (Revenue and quantity) for the coming year and submit it to the GM.
• Breakdown the annual forecast monthly and follow the sales and achieve monthly and annual target.
• Develop good and long-term relations with Technical and commercial team of customers and invite them to visit Gattefosse Technical facility to demonstrate our capabilities and to generate key joint development projects.
Qualification
• Technical degree i.e., Chemical Engineering or Pharmacy. Candidate with an MBA or PhD in the related fields would be an added advantage.
• Minimum 8 years of commercial and technical experience in the cosmetics and/or pharmaceutical industries
• Strong command of the English language; knowledge of one or more regional language is a plus, preferably Korean.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills. Accustomed to interacting with various levels of management and customers.
• Self-motivated, dynamic, collaborative personality, and a successful track record of sales management, and managing customers project and formulation development in a matrix environment.
• Frequent travel within the Asia territory is a must, and occasional travel to the regional office and the corporate office.
