Day-to-day, you'll provide direction and support to managers, employees, contractors and others, managing radioactive waste disposal tasks in accordance with current legislation and company policy.

• Ensure the waste hierarchy is applied though the provision of advice on appropriate disposal routes and methodology.
• Coordinate the storage, processing and ultimate disposal of radioactive waste.
• Manage the consignment of radioactive material off site to external treatment/disposal facilities..
• Provide practical radiological protection guidance to ensure work packages are undertaken in a safe manner.
• Assess and produce local procedures relating to waste management tasks and radiological monitoring protocols.

More detail about the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 7 Senior Clinical Nurse Specialist for Head and Neck Cancer, Thyroid Cancers, Head and Neck Skin Cancer and Patients with Long Term and Complex Tracheostomies. The successful post holder will become an integral member of a friendly and dynamic multidisciplinary team, working closely alongside the Nurse Consultant in driving and developing the specialist nursing service according to National and Local priorities. Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 6pm. They will ensure appropriate day-to-day management of the waiting lists and outpatient bookings, manage the staff rota ensuring all areas are sufficiently covered in staff absence, support the clinical team to provide an efficient service to patients.
