The role
As a Project Controller, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary, where you will interpret and influence project performance across one of the submarine business units' key projects.

Day-to-day, you'll analyse and coordinate baseline management and performance management across elements of a project.

• Working across all project controls functions to ensure an integrated approach to scope / change management, project planning, cost management/earned value management and risk management
• Responsible for assuring project control inputs and outputs to governance forums
• Detailed performance management including provision of narratives and detailed bespoke analysis
• Ownership of any specific project control documentation
• Support the implementation of internal and external change to the baseline

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 3 days in the office/onsite and 2 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Project Controller:

• Proven experience of working within at least one Project Controls function.
• A broad understanding of Project Controls, specifically cost control, earned value, finance, scheduling, change, risk and estimating.
• Previous experience applying data analysis to a project environment.
• Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to engage across various stakeholder groups.
• Evidence of personal effectiveness and ability to use problem solving skills to drive results.

The role

The role
As a FCAW Flux Core Welder, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. If you can bring technical skills and a safe working attitude, then we can provide you with one of the most exciting engineering projects this country has to offer.

Day-to-day, you'll be part of a friendly, supportive team, working alongside other experienced professionals like yourself who are engaged in safely carrying out welding and welding related activities in a production environment supporting the Type 31-unit build - from piece part creation through to panel manufacture and whole ship build.

• Carrying out welding tasks in accordance with the essential variables and complete visual inspection of finished welds to contract acceptance standards and project requirements
• Maintaining welding plant functionality and carry out daily machine checks, ensuring that any fault is reported immediately.
• Safely setting up and removing any pre-heating equipment.
• Use of digital and thermal temperature recording devices.
• The Welder role covers but not limited to; GSFCAW process, SAW process, Grinding, Pre-Heating, Basic Visual Inspection and Control of welding consumables.

The role entails supporting both the existing platform and future-proofing our operations by transitioning to a web-based architecture.

Day to day will:

• Support ERP System Development: Develop and maintain the current ERP system, CENTRAL, using .NET Framework and WINFORMS.
• Work with business analysts to understand, document, and fulfill business needs seamlessly.
• Assist in a stage-wise transition from the existing platform to a web-based platform, ensuring continuity and minimum disruption.
• Take an active role in the CENTRAL development group.
• Ensure thorough consideration and testing of any changes or upgrades before implementation in the live system.

This role is full time, Monday to Friday and is based at our Rosyth site, with hybrid working arrangements- 2 days in the office, 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Software Developer:

• Proven experience in working with .NET Framework and WINFORMS.
• Strong understanding and experience in software development, particularly in ERP systems.
• Ability to manage risk and participate in comprehensive risk management activities.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills with a focus on collaboration.
• Commitment to continuous professional development and learning.
