The role
As a HR Advisor you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will apply HR experience and knowledge to a range of situations, problems, and issues, and provide advice and guidance on HR policies and procedures to the business. As HR Advisor, you will support HRBPs and Line Managers in implementing, integrating, and delivering HR policy and procedures and ensure employees and line managers are fully aware and appraised of their legal obligation and the approach of the business to HR matters.
Responsibilities of the HR Advisor:
- Provide support to the HR Business Partner Team in the delivery of a customer focussed, professional and competent HR Service to the business ensuring consistency in approach on general working practices.
- Support application of HR policies and procedures in the light of changing company requirements and in line with evolving legislation and HR best practice
- Provide advice and guidance on a range of employment and performance issues, including investigation and resolution of all stages of disciplinary and grievances, and all other case work in line with Company policy.
- Encourage employees and people managers to use correct service channels, including channeling information to and from People Centre and give guidance to the business on how and where to access appropriate support.
- Support HRBP team in positively influencing employee relations to maintain and improve business output requirements and ensure increased employee engagement.
- Produce management information as required in support of the business decision making processes.
Essential experience of the HR Advisor:
- Ability to quickly assess operational problems arising from an individual, team or line manager and to provide solutions and/or appropriate interventions to ensure an expedient response, which will minimise any risk to the business and are in line with current legislation and HR best practice.
- Ability to effectively influence line managers to ensure that decisions made are fair, consistent and justifiable.
- Ability to apply logical thinking to resolve conflicting requirements and any limitations arising.
- Up to date knowledge of employment law.
- Experience of providing HR support to acquisitions, business tenders and managing the transition of people in and out of a business according to TUPE legislation is advantageous but not essential.
Qualifications of the HR Advisor:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience.
- CIPD qualified or working towards qualification.
