• Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of the Career Development Element of the Military Personnel Sections (MPS), ensuring that the Career Development Element complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
• Exercise management oversight responsibilities to all Career Development programs, leading Airmen with superior dedication, knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm.
• Manages the Enlisted Promotion Program.
• Serves as the base Personnel Reliability Program (PRP) monitor and as an agent for the U.S. Department of State, Special Issuance Agency-Passport Application Acceptance Program.

As a HR ASST (MIL), GS-0203-7, you will perform the following duties:

(1) Serves as a final reviewer and/or processor of actions related to the Soldier Services Programs. Summarizes pertinent facts and issues; analyzes information; outlines options; and recommends appropriate action. Ensures that regulatory requirements related to the specific action are met. Identifies gaps or inconsistencies in records and initiates action or enquiries to obtain needed data. Supports activities within the deployment cycle.

(2) Researches and obtains all necessary information regarding personnel actions and issues and provides explanations and interpretations of rules, regulations, procedures, and requirements pertaining to actions taken or recommended. Drafts or prepares related correspondence for appropriate signature and enters data in automated systems, as needed. Collects and retrieves data from information sources, both manual and electronic, for use in answering questions, responding to correspondence, or preparing reports or briefings. Data may also be used to project budgetary requirements. Ensures completeness and proper forwarding of records. Provides advice, guidance, instruction, interpretations, and training to other personnel on actions in areas of expertise, as needed.

(3) Serves as an additional point of contact, coordinator, and advisor for questions regarding Soldier Services Programs. Maintains files and libraries of Soldier Services Programs' materials including policies, procedures, and guidance from applicable agencies including, but not limited to, Department of Defense (DoD) and NGB. Coordinates with applicable agencies for assistance and support in the conduct of training in the assigned program(s).

Summary of This Role

Performs a broad range of accounting functions with responsibility for accounting records in a small office or organization department. Assigns transaction codes to documents. Ensures documents being processed are included in the appropriate accounting period. Posts, balances, and closes subsidiary ledgers. Follows up on delinquent accounts receivable customers. Analyzes and verifies internal consistency, completeness, and accuracy of account documents and makes adjustments.

What Part Will You Play?

• Performs more clerical accounting functions supporting the accounting department and other accounting associates to include entering routine travel expenses or invoice data into system, typing memos, scanning, filing, and providing documentation. Occasionally assists in verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records. Assists in performing simple balancing, reconciliations, corrections to rejections, and accounting errors, containing basic calculations, as directed.
• Functions as a first point of contact for internal clients, external clients, or vendors for routine accounting questions and inquiries. Assists in researching issues or complaints for client/customer disputes.
• Updates and maintains accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (i.e. disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable). Enters data into computer system using legacy computer programs. Compiles data and prepares a variety of standardized reports, as directed, to be reviewed by more experienced associates or management. Retains supporting documentation as defined by record retention guidelines, for audit purposes.

• Understand the competitive factors in the local markets supported and engages with COE partners (TA, Compensation, Talent Management, etc.) to ensuring offerings are competitive and consistent across client groups and broader organization where applicable

Qualifications 

• Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience preferred
• Eight (8) or more years of experience in a related field preferred  
• PHR, SPHR or GPHR certification preferred

• Ability to travel minimally--approximately 10%.

The School of Graduate Studies in the College of Aviation at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU) invites applications for a nine-month tenure-track, open rank position with strong preference in background and expertise in aviation data analytics, statistics, and aviation human factors. 

The Graduate School offers an MS in Aviation with specializations in Aviation Safety, Uncrewed Systems, and Space Operations. It also offers an MS in Occupational Safety Management, an MS in Uncrewed Systems, an MS in Space Operations in a traditional on-campus format, and an online Ph.D. in Aviation with specializations in Aviation Safety, Aviation Human Factors, Aviation Operations, and Interdisciplinary.

The candidate will be expected to teach courses at the graduate level and serve on Ph.D. dissertation and/or Master’s thesis committees. Typical teaching load is 2 to 3 courses per semester.

In addition to teaching responsibilities, the candidate is required to meet continuing scholarly growth requirements that include publishing scholarly work, actively pursuing and obtaining externally funded research, and presenting work at professional conferences.

The candidate will be expected to fulfill service responsibilities to the university and the profession.

Faculty for this position will be located on the Daytona Beach campus. The candidate is required to provide instruction through traditional classroom format.

Required Qualifications:

The position requires a doctorate and relevant experience in data analytics and human factors. Candidates currently pursuing a doctorate may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include a Ph.D. in a closely related field, and experience in Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS), data analytics, and one of the following aviation human factors, aviation safety, and/or industry uncrewed systems. FAA pilot certifications are also preferred.
