POSITION SUMMARY

This position administers athletic training services in a community or clinic setting under the supervision of a supervising physician. They also have the capability of providing support to Orthopedic Surgeons or Sports Medicine Physicians through duties as an Athletic Trainer in the physician practice. These services include, but are not limited to, school screenings, injury prevention programs, athletic consults, injury assessment, and treatment and case management of injured athletes/clients undergoing rehabilitation. This position frequently attends practices and games for area schools and athletic clubs and community athletic events. This position may also provide proper post operative wound care and education, removal of sutures and dressing changes to post-surgical patients as directed by attending physician.

CORE FUNCTIONS

1. Evaluates musculoskeletal injuries and develops treatment and exercise plans within the scope of practice of athletic training. Re-evaluates treatment plans, as needed, to ensure maximum patient benefit. Assists providers with clinical examinations, including obtaining medical history and vitals, prepare injections, and taking necessary measurements. Instruct patients in pre- and post-operative care, proper care of casts and splints, and crutch training.

2. Implements individualized therapeutic interventions, and monitors responses to therapy to ensure client safety. Reports progress and medical changes to referring physician or appropriate medical provider.

3. Educates clients, families, and coaches regarding injuries, risk factor modification, and exercise programs. Provide evaluation and treatment of medical and musculoskeletal pathology consistent with the scope and practice of athletic training clinical competencies as defined by the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), the Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainers, and the applicable state’s Board of Athletic Training.

4. May perform first and second assist functions during procedures and surgeries under direct supervision of a surgeon if candidate possesses current NBCOT certification or is currently training for the OTC license. Knowledge of all operating room aseptic techniques, including setting up proper draping and surgical fields. Positions and prepares patient for various orthopedic surgical procedures in operating room including fracture table setup, patient positioning, and specialized orthopedic instrumentation.

5. May apply, adjust and remove casts, splints, immobilization devices and traction under physician direction. Removes sutures, staples, pins and wires. Changes dressings and cares for wounds. Measures and fits patients for braces and other orthopedic devices. Educates patients about various orthopedic conditions.

6. May assist physician in reduction of fractures and dislocations. Assists with and performs the removal of orthopedic hardware and wound closure. Able to interpret most types of orthopedic fractures and dislocations on x-ray films.

Positions are facility based with no budgetary responsibility. Internal customers: All levels of nursing management and staff, medical staff, and all other members of the interdisciplinary health care team. External Customers: Physician offices, patient families, community/educational institution customers (administration, coaches, athletes, etc.), third party payers, medical supply companies, community and business organizations, and potential patient referral facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training or related field from an accredited university training program. Must possess knowledge of Athletic Training practices and competencies as typically acquired through three years of experience.

Current Board of Certification (BOC) for the Athletic Trainer certification and must possess a valid athletic trainer license issued in the state of practice, if applicable. Basic Life Support ( BLS) certification.

Requires the ability to work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare providers. Must have strong interpersonal communications and human relation skills.

This is a full-time position, scheduled dayshift, Monday through Friday. This position supports the Podiatry Providers in our multi-specialty clinic (we have 17 specialties in the SC Corridor with lots of opportunity to learn and grow), which will include wound care, casting, DME, wounds vac, triage messages, scheduling appointments and assisting with day to day functions of the clinic. 

This position prefers the RN to have experience in area of practice such as wound care, diabetic care, or pain management.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction. POSITION SUMMARY
This position assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of an Ophthalmologist and serves as a resource and mentor for non-certified assistants. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills necessary to provide appropriate patient care.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording medical history and performing basic measurement tests.

2. Assists in various procedures such as eye lid excision, eye lash removal, foreign object removal, suture removal and dressing change. All procedures are performed under the direction of a physician.

3. Demonstrates proficiency in surgery areas such as retina and cornea as well as refraction, tonopen, pentacam, IOL master, Goldman applanation, pachymetry, OCT and retina scope.

4. Prepares treatment rooms for patient exams, disposes of contaminated supplies and sterilizes medical instruments.

5. Instructs patients on medicines and special diets and administers medications as directed by physician. May authorize drug refills as directed, and call in prescriptions to pharmacy.

6. Maintains ophthalmic equipment and instruments and maintains inventory and orders supplies when necessary.

7. Serves as a resource for uncertified certified ophthalmology staff in training.
 

8. This position works under the direct supervision of the ophthalmologist, optometrist and/or resident. Requires strong computer skills, including the ability to work with medical software. Requires exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. POSITION SUMMARY
This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.

2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations

Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position manages a complex caseload of patients by providing comprehensive nutritional assessments and nutrition-focused physical exams, developing and managing all aspects of appropriate nutrition care plans and monitoring outcomes of plans. Provides patient and family nutrition counseling and education. Develops Nutrition Standards of Practice and Education material in collaboration with peers. Serves as a member of the interdisciplinary Health Care team providing input into patient care policies, programs, quality improvement activities and provides in-service education in areas of expertise.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Provides comprehensive nutrition assessment of patients' nutritional needs, to include nutrition-focused physical exams as appropriate. Obtains timely and appropriate data and analyzes/interprets data based on evidence-based standards and established practice guidelines.

2. Demonstrates and maintains competency in enteral and parenteral clinical practice protocols and oral nutrition management standard of practice as demonstrated by successful completion of initial competency exams and ongoing evaluation.

8. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Must possess knowledge of nutrition and dietetics demonstrated through the completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and/or Dietetics. Must be a Registered Dietitian or RD Eligible based on academic and professional requirements as defined by the Commission on Dietetic Registration(CDR) of The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Effective January 1, 2024 CDR requires a minimum of Master's degree to be eligible to take the registration examination. Must possess RD credentials within 6 months of hire. POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible for assisting clinicians and nursing staff in providing medical care, as well as, implementing and evaluating direct patient care. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment and skills to provide an excellent patient experience.

1. Prepares patient for exam and treatment by taking and recording vital signs, symptoms and other necessary measurements and recording chief complaint; documents pain scores as appropriate. Reports condition of patient which may be indicative of change in the patient's condition to the clinician.

2. 8. This position will complete all necessary on-boarding/orientation activities, including simulation training, as needed or directed.

This position interacts with all levels of staff in a variety of departments, physicians, patients, families and external contacts, such as employees of other health care institutions, community providers and agencies, concerning the health care of the patient. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge. Knowledge as normally obtained through graduation from an Accredited Medical Assisting Program. Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.

An Uncertified Medical Assistant will be placed in this position up to, but no more than 12 months from date of hire in order to obtain certification. POSITION SUMMARY
This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.

CORE FUNCTIONS
1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.

2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations

3. Calculates and collects patient liability according to verification of insurance benefits and expected reimbursement. Explains and provides financial policies and available resources for alternative payment arrangements to patients and their families.

4. Enters payments/charges for services rendered and performs daily payment/charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork sent to centralized billing for record purposes.

5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.

6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.

7. Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.

8. Provides a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow including but not limited to escorting patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in patient treatment, distributing mail and fax information, ordering supplies, etc.

9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a fast paced, multi-task environment with high volume and immediacy needs requiring independent decision making and sound judgment to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient’s care. This position requires the ability to retain large amounts of changing payor information/knowledge crucial to attaining reimbursement for the services provided. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third party payors.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed physician, and is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his or her direction. 4. Reports condition of patient, including signs and symptoms which may be indicative of change in the patient’s condition to the registered nurse and/or physician. Observes and reports patient progress towards goals and expected outcomes in collaboration with other health care team members. 5. Documents observation, implementation and data in the patient record. Documentation reflects objective/subjective data, nursing interventions and patient’s response to treatment. Notes physician orders accurately and in a timely manner.

6. May plan, organize, develop and coordinate the completion of documentation and the input of patient assessment data as required by federal regulation. Maintains, updates and revises required documentation according to patient changes in condition, as regulated by federal and/or state guidelines. 7. May coordinate the admission process including new resident evaluations. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must possess a current, valid LPN or LVN license in state of practice, temporary LPN or LVN license in state of practice, or compact LPN or LVN licensure for current state of practice. BLS certification is required. Additional certification or continuing education may be required based on area of practice. Completion of a state approved IV therapy program may be required in certain facilities and/or departments in accordance with state scope of practice, regulatory requirements or facility/ department policy.
