Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Collate tax information and prepare tax computation for personal tax submission.
• Liaise with tax authorities and relevant personnel accordingly.
• Handle submission of personal tax returns and tax payments.
• Prepare and submit estimated chargeable Income (ECI) tax filing to Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore for Singapore entities.

Job Summary

Handle both direct and indirect taxes across all business operations in Asia, Europe, USA, Latin America and Middle East in which the group has a presence, and including new markets to be developed. Manage and optimize the group’s effective tax rate, identifying tax optimization and provide advisories on the tax structuring of acquisitions and new ventures.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with commercial and finance teams to ensure that all operations and transactions are structured in a manner that is tax efficient, relate all localized planning to the group global strategy, covering the jurisdictions in which we operate.
• Work closely with business development, legal and commercial teams to structure M&A deals, new operations, in order to mitigate tax exposures. Coordinate with external advisors as appropriate.
• Advise and assist on transfer pricing issues and documentation (including master file, local file and country-by-country reporting), ensure compliance and promote best practices.
• Work with financial and treasury teams to ensure tax-efficient financing arrangements of downstream operations, in relation to minimizing withholding taxes, managing thin capitalization issues and optimize tax benefits.

• Calculate, prepare and/ or review all tax returns to ensure compliance and timeliness of reporting for both direct and indirect taxes.

Program Overview

This program is geared towards developing individuals as future leaders in various aspects of GAR’s global downstream business. As a Management Executive attached to the CEO Office (Downstream), this 18 – 24 months program allows you to undergo job rotations which provide opportunities for you to understand and learn about the downstream integrated value chain. • You can join the Commercial track.
• Each track will comprise of four/five 6-monthly rotations.

Conduct operational and financial audit review in the business units within the Group.

EXPERIENCE

Strong in MS Office suite (EXCEL skills a must). The ability to leverage Data Analytics [e.g., independently create, analyze and perform repetitive analytics (pivot tables, analytical queries/routines, and dashboards e.g., Power BI)].

• To build the companies’ knowledge base and capability in:carbon project verification standards (Verra, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, Puro.earth, etc) and how these technical requirements apply to global, regional and domestic regulations governing carbon markets which may have implications on our operations and/or carbon projects anticipating carbon market trends e.g changing standard/regulatory requirements, market demand and carbon credit pricing financial mechanisms e.g green/blue bonds
