The Opportunity
The Head of Orion, APAC will lead the strategic direction, growth initiatives and revenue generation efforts across the Asia-Pacific region. This role demands a strong commercial acumen combined with expertise in sales, compliance and partnership management. The ideal candidate will have experience in high-level sales, project management, negotiations within a matrixed organization, aligning with global standards and delivering exceptional value and servicing to clients, both agency and advertising brands.
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with local market leadership to develop and implement strategic sales plans across APAC to achieve growth, revenue, and compliance goals
- Lead market analysis to identify emerging trends, areas of opportunity, and expansion strategies
- Collaborate with local, regional and global leadership teams to ensure consistency and alignment with broader company objectives
Sales & Business Development
- Oversee the revenue performance, with responsibility for setting performance metrics, supporting team development and ensuring revenue targets are met
- Build and nurture relationships with key clients, agencies and media partners, leveraging these for cross-regional growth
- Drive high-impact programs, from concept to execution, that maximize client engagement and business development
- Provide detailed and accurate sales forecasting and pipeline reports
Commercial & Compliance Oversight
- Ensure adherence to compliance and regulatory standards across all regional operations, working closely with legal and compliance teams
- Manage contract negotiations and partnership agreements, ensuring alignment with compliance policies and company guidelines
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies, designed to encourage sustainable activation of commercial programs that drive business priorities for APAC
- Lead business planning, budgeting, and reporting for client groups including revenue and profit forecasts
Client & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for senior executives and key stakeholders, building trust and fostering lasting relationships
- Lead quarterly business reviews and provide updates on revenue, client engagement, and compliance adherence
- Ensure continuous alignment between sales efforts and client needs, proactively identifying opportunities for added value
- Proactively support client leads to manage client related activation and proactive future proposals
Talent & Culture Curation
- Recruit, develop, and retain top sales and compliance talent to build a high-performance team
- Promote a culture of collaboration, diversity, and continuous improvement within the team and across cross-functional partners – leading by example and providing equal opportunities for our people to grow, develop and succeed
- Act as a mentor and ambassador, fostering a culture of excellence and shared success
New Product Development
- Lead the development of new products and services - Identify and evaluate new opportunities for growth and develop innovative solutions to meet evolving client needs
- Collaborate closely with all functions to support the development of new offerings tailored to market needs, ensuring alignment with customer expectations and local regulations
- Conduct in-depth market research and customer feedback sessions to guide product innovation and identify feature enhancements that drive adoption
- Strategize and execute go-to-market plans for new products, coordinating with cross-functional teams, including marketing, commercial and legal, to ensure seamless launches across APAC
- Provide regular insights on product performance, leveraging data to propose refinements and increase the product’s value proposition in the region
Ideally
- Proven track record of success in a senior media/marketing/sales leadership role with experience across the APAC region
- Deep understanding of the media, marketing and advertising industry and its key trends in the APAC market
- Team player with strong persuasion skills able to drive consensus across multiple stakeholders
- Balance high-level strategic thinking with hands-on tactical work to get things done quickly
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market share expansion
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills; proven ability to lead cross-functional projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a record of influencing senior executives
- Strong background in building and nurturing executive-level relationships and leading complex deal cycles
- Experience in a matrixed organization, able to work effectively with cross-functional partners across region
- High level of professionalism and leadership skills to build business relationships, trust, and respect with partners and suppliers
- Self-motivated, strong team player with the ability to work independently, coordinate across functional activities, obtain buy-in, and elevate issues at critical junctures appropriately
