About The Role
Morrison Energy Services is recruiting for a Lead Design Engineer you will be part of our OHL Design team who are responsible for supporting the MESTN Construction business.
We are looking for someone who can lead, co-ordinate and produce design engineering solutions to support MESTN OHL and Substation construction projects. To lead and co-ordinate design projects ensuring on-time and on-budget delivery.
As the Lead Design Engineer your duties & responsibilities will be:

- Manage day to day overhead line design activities, liaising closely with the Design Manager.
- To act not only as project lead but also in the capacity of senior design resource in support of other projects by delivering high quality design outputs when required.
- To maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of National Grid, SPEN, ENA and other relevant industry standards.
- Develop specific design processes, policy and training manuals.
- Liaise regularly with other Engineers and Technicians to maximise productivity.
- Review, develop, encourage and train engineering staff.
- To assist in the provision of technical advice and support to Babcock personnel and clients.
- Review resource levels regularly, reporting deficiencies and possible solutions to the Design Manager.
- Assist the development of external design resources relevant to role and utilise wherever required.
- Maintain effective communication and undertake any necessary correspondence with both internal and external clients.
- Attend and contribute to regular project briefings, team meetings and design review meetings with engineers and/or technicians where necessary
- Continually assess and review contract programme within design and innovation teams.
- Liaise with clients to provide input and scope for new standards/codes of practice.
- To work within established Company policies and procedures.

About The Role
Morrison Energy Services are currently looking to recruit a Site Manager to work on various contracts across the UK.
This role is a site-based position, which involves working on sites across the UK which involves lodging away from home, Monday-Friday.
To be the representative for Morrison Energy Services in the field on our electric vehicle infrastructure contract(s) across a portfolio of sites in the UK to ensure the contracts are planned and managed in order to deliver the works safely, to the quality standards, on time and within budget in line with the company policies and procedures. To assist in the management of the pre-construction activities and to supervise all onsite construction works.
As the Site Manager your duties &responsibilities will be:

- Provide all necessary coordination of personnel/sub-contractors and site management, client liaison, supervision and technical support in the delivery of construction work activities.
- Consistently demonstrate, promote and develop high standards of safety behavior, leading by example.
- Ensure all required data, records, forms etc. are recorded and submitted accurately and by the appropriate deadlines to the Project Manager.
- Ensure the required plant, tools and materials are available for use by the working party.
- Review working documentation to ensure the content of the documents are sufficient and relevant to the tasks to be carried out.
- Assist in the preparing of the construction phase plans
- Issue permits and include in the work pack.
- Write RAMS and review and review sub-contractors’ RAMS.

- Deliver and record daily activity briefs/pre-job briefs. End of shift debriefs & toolbox talks.
- Supervise the relevant operatives, working supervisors and sub-contractors allocated to their relevant service. This includes the implementation of required health, safety, well-being, environment and quality standards.
- Ensure all works being carried out are covered by a safe system of working, all the necessary briefings have been carried out and review/sign off.
- Assist Contract Manager with management and programming of works, and requirements for plant and materials.
- Prepare ITP quality records and manage the implementation.
- Completion of project handover documentation.
- Responsible for utilities coordination and excavation permitting.
- Completion of HSE Inspections.
- Drive and implement innovation ideas.

What does an average day look like?
Initially you join our training environment before moving out into the field. Start your day by signing into your handheld device so you’re ready for the day ahead. Your day will begin with you planning your route. Meters can be inside or outside properties, so you’ll need to decide what time you’re more likely to gain access to an inside meter. You’ll spend your day walking or driving (depending on the area you cover) from property to property, always ensuring your own and customers’ safety.
Once you arrive, you’ll read the meters and record the information accurately on a state-of-the-art handheld device. This will be done whilst delivering first class customer service to every property you visit. You work on your own and will have the motivation to work quickly and efficiently in an independent role. Come rain or shine you’ll brave the elements to get the job done.

You will be self-motivated and energetic, ideally from a background where you are used to driving / managing appointments and working outdoors, but this is not essential.

As the Technical Training Instructor/Assessor, you will be part of our Technical Training Team who are responsible for planning, design and delivery of technical training and competence assessments for MES Transmission Networks.
You will report directly to the training manger and as well as training delivery you will be required to attend operational sites around the country to carry out competency assessments where you will review current practices to ensure compliance is maintained.
As the Technical Training Instructor your responsibilities will include:

- To deliver high quality training for a range of technical health and safety courses to internal and external delegates
- To continuously monitor, develop and improve personal standards and that of the suite of technical training courses
- To assist in the processing of training courses and assessments as per the training Quality Management System (certification, training calendar and archives)

Morrison Water Services are recruiting for a Defect Coordinator to work on our Thames Water Smart Metering and Developer Services contract in Dartford. This role will be expected to be a minimum of 2-3 days a week in the office.
As a Defect Coordinator you will be part of our Planning Team who are responsible for planning and scheduling our external excavation works.

As a Site Manager you will be a part of our Substation Build Team who deliver UKPN's 11kV to 132kV Network, refurbishing and building new switchouses and transformer enclosures with associated switchgear, transformers and cabling. Morrison Water Services play a key role in the AMP6 Metering contract. The main purpose of the contract is to deliver the metering programme for Thames Water, engaging customers in the process, and installing and replacing water meters.
You must be able to start 4-5 weeks in-house training in Slough, Monday 11th November 2024 if successful.
As a Non Household Metering Case Handler, your duties and responsibilities will be:

- Work closely to build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders including retailers, commercial customers, scheduling, escalations and Thames Water operations.
- Use of FSL to book customer appointments by telephone and email.
- Supporting the management of works at all stages to hit challenging Service Level Agreements
- Manage customer complaints and escalations when required
- Updating corporate work management systems to track work progress and maintain an accurate audit trail of works history.
- Ensuring field teams complete scheduled work and that all details from the field are correct for billing.
- Ensure all work is progressed within SLA and that we work compliantly at all times

The Key Requirements

As the Managing Quantity Surveyor you will be part of our Commercial who are responsible for managing all commercial aspects of a project in terms of liaising with the client, internal and external reporting and managing third party interactions.
