Skills for Care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator to join the Marketing & Communications team as a member of a busy Events function.

In this role, you will provide support to the events manager and other colleagues across the organisation to undertake activities and provide customer service around our annual cycle of events and programmes including our priced portfolio of products.

Using our event management system and existing operational processes your main responsibilities will include setting up events and overseeing the tasks needed to allow people to book to attend and then participate. Providing a high level of customer service to support communications with delegates and the processing of their booking. You will also be tasked with putting in place other logistical arrangements including providing key information to presenters and facilitators.

We are looking for someone who has experience of working to processes, and using online systems and has worked in a similar environment or role. You should have excellent communication skills, be detail orientated, and be passionate about high quality customer service and support.

Skills for Care has exciting opportunities for a National Professional Lead to join our Workforce Delivery Team.

We are looking for a National Professional Lead who is a registered social worker or holds a social work qualification, and has significant experience of pre and post registration learning and development programmes and in particular the ASYE (Assessed and Supported Year in Employment) programme for social work. Ideally you will have experience of supporting students, apprentices or newly qualified staff, and/or delivering or commissioning training and professional development programmes. We are happy to consider part-time and flexible approaches to work in order to maximise the balance of skills and knowledge within the team.

You will be involved in managing a number of national programmes of work which directly enable workforce policy to be implemented, building capacity and capability with employers and their regulated workforce. Examples of current and recent work undertaken by the team include developing and refreshing resources and guidance (inc. making the most of student nursing and occupational therapy placements, Nursing Associate Deployment Guidance, ASYE refresh), Management and quality assurance of the ASYE programme, Promoting the sector as a career destination of choice, Professional Leadership programmes for nurses, social workers and occupational therapists.

There is a strong focus on quality assurance, consistency, and equity of opportunity in all our project work. The team regularly engages with national stakeholder organisations and also with employers and regulated professionals nationally and locally and in both large and small groups. Skills for Care has an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer to join our Workforce Intelligence team. The role is full time, for a period of 12 months to cover maternity leave. The role is home-based.

The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team working on our Adult Social Care Workforce Data Set (ASC-WDS) service. The service is a GDS assessed service, now in live running. The team follows Agile user-centered methods, working in 2-week sprints to develop and deploy as often as possible.

You will be part of a team that provides a valued service to the care sector and to the Department of Health and Social Care.

With experience of working in an Agile environment within a multi-disciplinary team. You should have experience with the most technologies in our tech stack:


Angular and Typescript for the front end
SASS and the GDS design system for styling
NodeJS with an Express API for the backend
Postgres database
Terraform for Infrastructure as Code

About the role:

This is a full-time fixed term role to cover a period of maternity leave. The role is Leeds office-based but the team mostly work in a hybrid setting (i.e. a mix of office and home working).

The successful candidate will coordinate and facilitate the development of bids and proposals from early market engagement, expressions of interest, identifying key information, investigating contexts, through to coordinating and supporting all bids/proposals activity until timely completion of high-quality submissions.

You will help to coordinate activities post-submission of bids and proposals, including clarifications required by funders, and initial mobilisation activities until handover to other colleagues. If required, this may include supporting the management and initial implementation of Business Development projects by coordinating and monitoring activities, tasks, and project plans.

You will support the Business Development team with coordination of activities for the management and delivery of products and services from our commercial offer portfolio, including coordinating and supporting the management of workflow for colleagues and/or delivery partners.
