We are now actively looking to expand our provision and seeking an instructor who can bring a wealth of skills and knowledge that will, benefit both the further education and employer services provisions This is an opportunity for passionate and inspiring individuals to join our existing team in a newly constructed, stimulating environment.

As Electrical Instructor, you will be responsible for planning and delivering practical and theoretical instruction and skills based training from a provided scheme of work (for a maximum of 300 hours depending on curriculum plan), to a range of students to complement the teaching and learning process meeting the standards for teaching and support of learning in further education. You will also assist in the support, supervision and instruction of students undertaking full preparation of the learning environment including equipment, technology, aids, materials and resources.

We are seeking talented individuals who are passionate about delivering the very best experience to young people. We are currently looking for a Public Services Lecturer to join us on a full time, permanent basis.

This is a great opportunity for someone with previous experience in teaching Public Services and someone who is enthusiastic about the subject and is keen to learn. The successful candidate will engage and participate in advising and assessing students, preparing course material that accommodates the learning strategy of the college and participating in training and meetings where required. Experience in delivery of teamwork and leadership, emergency response, major incidents, understanding the third sector and front line services would be highly advantageous. The role will also cross over into aspects of sport, exercise and health; including nutrition and fitness & training.

This could also suit a candidate with a Sport or Public Service degree who can use transferable skills to work across the two sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to work within an outstanding area of the college. As part of a well-established team, you will work closely with colleagues and students across both of our campuses, ensuring success for both college and students.

An academic background in Public Services is preferred along with a recognised teaching qualification, (L5 or above). We will also consider someone who is willing to work towards obtaining this qualification. Experience of teaching Public Services and Sport BTEC level 2 and 3 and a willingness to teach on both programmes would be advantageous.

The role is for a full-time lecturer however a part time option or job share would be considered.

The Animal Welfare and Science department are looking for dedicated, enthusiastic and self-motivated candidates who have a passion for animal welfare and supporting the development of learners in a college environment to join the team. The successful candidate will be confident in the welfare, husbandry and handling of a range of animals, from small mammals and reptiles to livestock and equids. You will need to ensure the health, safety and welfare of the animals at all times.
The ideal candidate will have a calm working approach, be able to multi-task and have the ability to ‘think on their feet’. A friendly and approachable candidate will need to communicate with staff, learners and visitors to the animal park. During term time, our Animal Welfare and Science technicians work very closely with a range of learners in the department, so an ability and willingness to work with medium / large groups of learners is key to this role.
Successful candidates will be encouraged to complete the Level 3 teacher training qualification to support their delivery to learners in this role.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our curriculum support team at Weymouth College. This role will be delivering the work experience curriculum effectively through a variety of different learning strategies, including innovative use of digital technology (Grofar).

The aim of the work placement role is to effectively source and secure work experience placements for full-time learners. You will engage with employers, curriculum areas and full-time learners, to ensure that the preparation, delivery and evaluation of work placements are meaningful, relevant and sustained to a high quality and ensure that learners are well prepared.

Developing student employability skills is a key aspect of the role and you will be supporting students to gain their DBS and work placement, organising assessments and action planning of work-related activities ensuring all work is recorded on Grofar.

The post holder will support, instruct and guide students, promoting a high quality training/learning experience for all students through demonstrable skills in camera equipment, lighting, sound and post-production software, reviewing and improving practice in line with student and manager feedback.

The post holder will be required to provide general technical support and housekeeping for the department, including the booking and dissemination of equipment as well as being responsible for the instruction and approval of risk assessments for student projects.
