Provide initial telephone and email support for job planning queries, responding to enquiries within remit of work in a timely fashion or escalating/referring to the JPO as appropriate. Using the New Starter Actions Tracker spread sheet contact Consultant and SAS doctors new to the Trust to invite them to the Job Planning induction session and complete all relevant actions. Initiate the administration of the New Doctors induction programme by preparing the paperwork ahead of the session, ensuring completion of training by new starters, setting up diary invitations, and completing the post-session follow-up actions. Support the training of doctors programme on the Trusts job planning system both in scheduled group training sessions, and on a one to one basis. To be responsible for ensuring that Job Plans are signed off on the Trusts electronic job planning system, using template emails, on a weekly basis. Being a Care Assistant means you need to be adaptable, kind-hearted and put others first. Your role may include:

Be different – be a Life Skills Facilitator
You’ll be working alongside nurses, therapists and other specialists, in a tight-knit team. The glue that holds the team together are our Life Skills Facilitators.

- A varied role where no two days are the same. Our residents have a wide variety of needs and Life Skills Facilitators care for each person as an individual. We don’t do timetabled task-based care – we get to know our residents and support them with what they need to be more independent. Whether that’s being involved in therapy sessions, helping someone tidy their room or make their bed, arranging a family meal with their loved ones, or helping them paint their nails, you’ll always be doing something different.
- Supportive team environment. Our close-knit team relies on each other’s experience and expertise to ensure the best outcomes for our residents. And our management encourages an environment where all members of the team are listened to and supported.
- A chance to challenge yourself and make a real difference to our residents’ lives. Life Skills Facilitators are encouraged to be much more involved in planning care than healthcare assistants, support workers and carers might be in other settings. You will be a respected, valued member of the team and will work closely with our nurses and therapists on care plans.
- Excellent opportunities for learning and development. Our residents have such a range of needs that you can’t avoid learning something new every day. On top of this, we will support you with all the training you need, including NVQ qualifications and further clinical training.
- A career with progression. Life Skills Facilitators with that extra ‘something special’ can progress to a Lead Life Skills Facilitator role, heading up a team. We’re dedicated to growing our own and, to date, all our Leads have come from internal promotions.
