The role:
As a Senior AR&M Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary where you will have the opportunity to be involved in complex engineering projects to ensure that the UK's submarines are safe, available, and maintainable. Day to day, you'll build upon proven communication skills to convey complex technical details to a wide range of stakeholders developing domain knowledge to resolve problems and support the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Function.

As a Senior AR&M Engineer your responsibilities will include:
Managing the delivery of reliability, maintainability, and availability analysis of systems and assets within the submarine enterprise.
Generating claims and arguments for Reliability and Maintainability (R&M) performance predictions and substantiating these with evidence in accordance with standards and processes.
Management of internal and external stakeholders by providing technical briefs by summarising salient information.
Managing and developing a team of Reliability Engineers

As part of this role, you shall develop your technical knowledge of R&M and support training and development opportunities within the wider team.

This role is full-time, 35 hours per week provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior Reliability Engineer:
Understanding of the use of R&M domain metrics such as availability, failure rate, MTBF, MTTF, MART
Proven experience in reliability modelling techniques such as Fault Tree Analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, and Markov Modelling
Reliability and dependability of defence equipment
Knowledge of R&M theories such as Boolean algebra; Bayesian statistics; Monte Carlo simulation processes
Experience of leading teams to deliver technical analysis

Qualifications for the Senior Reliability Engineer:
STEM related Degree

Day to day, you'll be:

This role is full time, 36 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.

Essential experience of the Senior EC&I Engineer:

• You will have a high level of developed knowledge as the role is directly accountable for design development, and determining solutions to problems and issues within the specialist subject area. The ideal candidate will be at a Senior Electrical/Electronic Design Engineer level with significant experience in engineering calculation, analysis and integration with an in-depth understanding of system electrical design, and skilled in supporting and developing less experienced team members.
• It would be beneficial if you have experience working on UK naval marine shipbuilding projects or defence related design experience but this is not essential. Electrical & Electronics experience in other industries would be considered including facilities, Oil & Gas and Aviation.
• Experience of operating in a defence or high safety integrity environment
• Experience of all phases of the engineering lifecycle and configuration control systems

Qualifications for the Senior EC&I Engineer:

• Qualified to degree level, or HNC/HND equivalent, coupled with significant experience in the relevant engineering discipline.

Your new role
Working with a mixed client portfolio including sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, in this role you will prepare statutory accounts, management accounts and both corporate and self-assessment tax returns using a range of systems including Iris, Xero and Taxcalc. You may also support colleagues with bookkeeping, VAT returns and CIS returns and will liaise regularly with clients.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this role, you will possess prior experience preparing accounts within a UK accountancy firm. My client will consider individuals who have complete or who are part-way through AAT/ACCA or ACA qualifications as well as those who are QBE (provided relevant practice experience can be demonstrated in line with the duties above). Additionally, you must possess excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
