BACKGROUND TO THE POST

Management – the person appointed will undertake Course Leadership/Management for out full time programmes at Leamington College and Rugby College under the guidance of the HOD.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ To help, guide and support students, following their initial enquiry and interview, to choose the right course of study.
✓ To work with the Course Managers and Training agencies, to help co-ordinate the placing and visiting of students in work placement, or employment positions with companies.
✓ To work with managing agents to ensure that students are placed in a safe and suitable work situation where work based training can be clearly identified.
✓ To attend career events, liaise with schools and work with managing agents, to promote recruitment for all automotive courses.
✓ To work with the Marketing teams and the Work Based Learning Management team to ensure that all existing and new courses are marketed and promoted in the best interests of the college.

✓ To support industry by setting up and promoting bespoke training to meet industry needs, when required.

BACKGROUND TO THE POST

The main purposes of the SEN Team Leader is to manage and co-ordinate the daily activities of Learning Mentors on our Pershore College site and Cross College for Work Based Learners. To assist with the development of our support provision for students with learning difficulties and disabilities and to support identified students with their learning both in and outside of the classroom. The role will include communicating with various external agencies as well as internal staff. There will be elements of staff supervision and record keeping relating to student progress, retention and achievement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

✓ To manage the team of Learning Mentors (LMs) at each centre and support the Head of Inclusion and Learning Support with recruitment & selection, probation review and performance reviews.
✓ To ensure all LMs are timetabled appropriately and that they fulfil their contracted hours.
✓ To collate student records for the appropriate centre, to meet with audit standards and ensure all learning support activity for the centre is recorded on the College system Spirals Sheets and ProMonitor.
✓ To communicate students’ educational needs to the relevant lecturers and ✓ Personal Learning Advisers (PLAs) and ensure the information is available on the eILP and ‘at risk’ registers.
✓ To support the College admissions team with interview evenings, open events etc. to provide information for prospective students and their parents.
✓ To liaise regularly with the Head of Inclusion and Learning Support and the Specialist Tutors on all support issues for current and potential students.
✓ To assist with transitional reviews and centre tours with potential students.
✓ To mentor students outside the classroom/workshop by holding one-to-one mentoring sessions as instructed by the Head of Inclusion and Learning Support and/or the Specialist Tutors.
✓ To attend and participate in CAFs as required by external agencies.

✓ To act as the appropriate centre’s first point of contact for any member of staff who has support issues or queries.

Support the management of clinical and operational processes within the Fracture Clinic, liaising with members of the Multidisciplinary Teams of all groups involved e.g., Trauma and Orthopaedics (adult and Paediactrics), Emergency Department.
