They are seeking a skilled Auto Mechanic / Technician to join their friendly team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical knowledge and be adept at diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles (ideally including PSV). This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure the efficient operation of machinery and tools within their facility.

Auto Mechanic / Technician duties:

- General service, maintenance and repair of public service vehicles
- MOT inspection and preparation
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems
- Comply with Health & Safety legislation

- IRTEC qualified however training can be given

Hours

As their Auto Mechanic / Technician you will be required to work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Part time also considered i.e. 3 days per week or similar (negotiable).

Day-to-day, you'll produce, authorise, and approve nuclear submarine technical documentation, (nuclear fuel handling)

• Day to day management and leadership of a team of technical authors
• Liaising with both internal and external stakeholders and regulators
• Reviewing, and authorising technical documentation
• Ensuring compliance with safety case requirements
• Driving and embedding a leading health and safety culture throughout the sphere of influence

This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Essential experience of the Fuel Handling PAG Deputy Chair

• Submarine refit, refuel, revalidation or assisted maintenance period or long overhaul period experience
• Facilities operations and maintenance experience
• CAT A/B Royal Naval Watchkeeper
• Experience in civil nuclear
• Proven leadership, management and stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of plant safety cases

Qualifications for the Fuel Handling PAG Deputy Chair

• HNC or above in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Nuclear Warship Support Course - Desirable
