Reporting into the Construction Manager, the Site Technician will provide technical, administrative and Health & Safety, Environmental, Quality & Sustainability (HSEQS) support to the Project Manager and Supervisors. You will be involved with developing, implementing, recording (daily) and monitoring engineering and management plans, testing construction materials and assisting in estimating costs for the project in consultation with the Senior Project Engineer.
Key accountabilities for the position:
• Administer the activities of the contract works, ensuring all elements of Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures as defined in the submitted documentation are adhered to.
• Conducting and directing fieldwork and laboratory testing of construction materials, collecting, and analysing data for traffic surveys
• Ensure appropriate permits and approvals are in place to facilitate daily works activities.
• Interpret and manage daily works activities ensuring they are undertaken in accordance with all permits, approvals, design drawings, specifications, and work management plans.
• Inspect civil engineering works and organise maintenance and repair work where required.
• Preparation of Work Procedures, Inspection & Test Plans, Safe Work Methods Statements (SWMS), Construction Procedures and Site Access Plans
• Have input into inductions for both new personnel and plant arriving to site, including arrangements for inductions as required.
• Assist in procurement and the arrangement of Purchase Orders
• Estimating and tracking material costs ensuring finished works are within specifications, regulations, and contract provisions.
Capability & Experience you will need to have:
• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
• 2 years of experience as a project-based technician in the construction engineering industry
• Knowledge of ACCIONA systems and processes highly regarded
