Three exciting new leadership opportunities have arisen for inspirational and experienced consultants who want to help shape the education and training of current and future doctors in one of the largest trusts in the country. The Medical Education Department is offering three Care Group Directors of Medical Education roles which will attract 4 PAs that will form part of a 10PA consultant role (specialty – see below).

Post holders will support the Director of Medical Education and will each hold a specific portfolio of work aligned to the Trust’s Care Groups and overseeing and coordinating work around the education and training of medical students and junior doctors at all levels. You will work collaboratively at Care Group Associate Medical Director and managing director level. For any candidate considering a clinical substantive role in the trust but who may be keen to add a significant senior education component please contact the Director of Medical Education for an informal discussion.

Applications are particularly welcomed from consultants working in medical specialties, emergency medicine, acute medicine, HCOOP however, applications from consultants working in any specialty will be considered.

You will be expected to attend regular care group and medical education business meetings, ensuring that education and training needs and issues are fully integrated into clinical and operational services. You will be an advocate and ensure the voice of Medical Education is heard as part of business and operational decisions being made within your area. Collaborative working, within the Trust, and with external partners, will therefore be essential in delivering key outcomes against the NHSE Education Contract and the Medical Education Strategy and vision which seeks to make East Kent the Trust of choice for medical students and doctors.

You will be required to ensure that all students and doctors have the appropriate supervision, that their curriculum requirements are met, that any and all additional support (including IMG doctors) requirements are delivered. You will need to ensure that faculty are recruited, inducted, supported and developed appropriately in order to be able to fulfil their roles. You will lead a team to ensure processes for learner support (additional support, SRTT, LTFT, Flexible Portfolio Training and more) are implemented effectively in collaboration with other stakeholders including departments, rota coordinators, OH for example.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate significant educational management and leadership skills and experience including the management of education programmes and resources.

Your Role as a Chef Trainer:

As a Chef Trainer, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home and get to hit the road and visit different sites within your region to meet your learners face-to-face in their kitchens.

Working Monday to Friday, a typical week will involve 2-3 days of travelling to see your chef apprentices. With the rest working from home; meeting apprentices online and completing administration.

What You'll Do:


Work with chef apprentices in their kitchens and online.
Use your industry knowledge to train the next generation of chefs.
Meet new apprentices and discuss their learning needs.
Explain how English and maths are important in the kitchen, to support your apprentices with their Functional Skills.
Attend our Chef Academy with your apprentices to support hands-on learning of various techniques.
Visit employers and provide feedback on their apprentices’ skills.
Develop relationships with employers in your area.
Complete administrative and planning tasks, using Google Suite and internal platforms and systems.




About You

We’re seeking passionate chefs, looking to share their knowledge and make a meaningful impact on the culinary industry. To succeed in this role, you’ll need the following:


Demonstrable experience at Head Chef, Sous Chef or Chef De Partie level. Coupled with a passion for teaching.
A good grasp of technology and administrative skills.
Have, or be willing to work towards, a Level 2 (GCSE) qualification in English and maths.
A valid Driving Licence and access to your own vehicle for travel within your region.

SER are currently working a nursery in Maidstone who are looking to appoint a L3 Nursery Practitioner for a short-term contract (2 months) from September 2024. A professional, supportive and rewarding environment the nursery are looking for an enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner able to provide the best possible support and experience for the children in their care.

Position: Nursery Practitioner (Level 3)
Days: Monday – Friday
Hours: Full time (early and lates – hours TBC)

Rate of Pay: from £12.31 pr hr depending on experience


Essential Requirements:
•Full and relevant Childcare Qualification (NNEB/CACHE, BTEC or NVQ) Level 3 or above

To lead on the development, embedding and monitoring of a WEX model to secure students in weekly placements.

Work Experience, (WEX), Lead:

The role of Work Experience Lead is to develop, implement and co-ordinate work experience for students aged 14 - 16 with complex needs. You will be responsible for finding safe, suitable work placements to meet individual student career aspirations, establishing and maintaining good working relationships with work placement providers, and supporting the students to enable them to access and maintain their placements.

This will involve liaising with families and other professionals to ensure student needs are fully met. As students progress from Heath Farm College into employment, education, training or volunteering, you will collect progression evidence and update the college records.

As Work Experience Lead you will support the KS4 college team in ensuring work experience placements meet the individual needs of the student by facilitating them in gaining the skills, knowledge and experience they need to support their learning journey at college and beyond. You will support the team in ensuring directives and policies are reflected and implemented in everyday practice. You will be accountable to the KS4 Lead.
