You will be joining a leading media industry, research and analysis organisation. The company operates an intelligence platform that revolutionises, research and the reporting of data to global streaming companies. They truly have an enviable Who's Who of global client base. This company goes beyond delivery of numbers, as it delivers real and transformative insights to their growing client base.
As Finance and Operations Manager you will be part of the senior management team, working at their office initially in Bristol city centre, with a relocation planned for early in 2024 to the city outskirts. Ideally you will be available 5 days per week for a 37.5 hr week, however some flexibility can be offered to the successful applicant. The role is hybrid with at least 3 days in the office. The role reports into the Finance Director based in another office in Bristol whilst you will be working with the operations team based in separate offices in Bristol.
Duties
Finance:
- Work closely with the operations team to ensure that all accounting administrative functions are covered and that all weekly and monthly reports/reconciliations are completed
- Bank reconciliations - Reconciling bank accounts on a daily basis and ensuring that all receipts are allocated to the correct customer invoices
- Sales Ledger -Inputting sales invoices and reconciling to contract management system
- Ensure all invoices are sent out in a timely manner and that all contracts are up to date
- Purchase Ledger - Inputting supplier invoices and making payments
- Review and post monthly payroll journals
- Liaise with senior managers regarding monthly expense returns and credit cards and ensure that all required receipts are retained and all payments are posted and reconciled on a monthly basis
- Completing and returning tax returns, VAT returns and PAYE
- Reconcile balance sheet control accounts on a monthly basis
- Produce monthly management accounts
- Produce year end accounts and liaise with auditors to prepare statutory accounts
- Provide monthly reports on overhead expenditure to the Finance Director and Senior Management Team
Operations:
- Contract management - ensuring that all contracts are updated on to contract management system and all renewals are issued in a timely manner.
- Assisting the operations team with any other duties to assist in the smooth running of the company.
Experience:
- Accounting background, within start-up environmental benefit
- AAT or equivalent accounting qualification
- Experience using Sage 50 would be ideal and/or similar software
- Ability to display initiative and flexibility in approach to work, be self-motivated and have a confident manner and ambitious outlook essential
Salary & Benefits:
- £45k-£50k neg DOE + benefits such as discretionary bonus, dependent on company and personal performance.
- Pension, with company paying 3% and employee 5%
- Up to £30 gym membership per month.
