• Providing support to the Head of Finance

The Role

We are seeking to recruit our next cohort of Security Officers to meet our departmental aim of maintaining a safe, security and accessible Parliament, free from disruption. Security Officers are responsible for controlling access to the Parliamentary Estate which will include searching and screening visitors, vehicles, and specified premises to prevent or trace prohibited items. To work as part of the EFM operational team, responsible for providing a comprehensive support service in the hospital environment. Here at Kingston College, we are seeking a Security Officer to be part of a dedicated shift/rota-based team.
As our Security Officer, you will promote and maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors, as well as the protect the property. Manning the College’s main entrance, you will be alert to any potential security related problems, outstanding maintenance items or hazardous situations that require attention. You will carry out regular security patrols, input and assist with access control and monitor CCTV, completing investigation assignments as required.
We’re looking for an experienced and SIA registered Door Supervisor who has patience, tact, and honesty in dealing with people from a variety of backgrounds, particularly in confrontational situations. Able to work under pressure, at times without supervision, you will have exceptional communication skills and be able to work well as part of a team. You will be self-motivated, have a strong customer focus and hold a valid First Aid at Work Certificate.

Your new role
You will be responsible for supporting senior associates in the business and providing PA and administrative support to them. This includes diary management, travel and accommodation bookings, supporting with case management system and files, organising events, drafting documents and letters, supporting with initial queries and providing any ad-hoc support needed by the department.
What you'll need to succeed
Your previous experience working as a legal PA and have worked previously in a legal firm will help you succeed in this role. Ideally, you will also have experience using Proclaim too. You're well-organised with excellent time management and prioritisation skills. You have great written and verbal communication skills, and you're confident liaising with varying levels of the business. You're proactive and can work well on your own initiative and in a team.
