The Health Care Support Worker role also involves the undertaking of clerical duties; providing hands-on care, assistant and emotional support to patients and their relatives; performing phlebotomy, perform observations T.P.R. BM urinalysis, care of central lines, cannulation and maintain documentation. There is also an element of putting the chemotherapy treatments away, dealing with pharmacy over any missing treatments and keeping up to date with medicine management training.Excellent communication skills are essential and cannulation experience is desired.
