Suitable candidates will have civils in a rail environment experience.

Candidate Responsibilities:

* Supervising and mentoring assistant, trainee engineers

* Monitoring and recording delivery against the agreed programme and construction methods.

* Ensuring that works are accurately and clearly set out before work commences.

* Completing daily diary records and ensuring they are also being maintained by others under your supervision.

* Assist in preparing "look ahead" programmes in conjunction with the supervisory staff, coordinated with overall site programme.

* Identifying, recording and reporting change to the scope of works or programme.

* Ensuring that testing / sampling of materials is carried out as required by the specification.

* Recording and reporting Non Conformance's and ensuring appropriate corrective action is taken.

* Provide accurate setting out for works before work is programmed to commence, allowing time for independent checking.

Candidate Requirements:

• Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent
• Proven experience working for a tier 1 on a large infrastructure project

Randstad C&P are recruiting for an experienced Mechanical Engineer within Prudhoe. In this role, you will optimise factory operations by resolving breakdowns and ensuring maintenance is delivered on schedule. You will also drive improvements in machinery, hygiene, quality, and performance across the site.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all reactive and proactive maintenance activities across the site, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and adherence to the highest quality standards.
• Liaise with management on ongoing and required maintenance works, effectively managing maintenance work orders from various departments.
• Perform routine and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on machinery, including filling equipment, tanks (including newmatic tanks), and conveyors, ensuring timely completion and a proactive maintenance approach.
• Respond promptly to maintenance calls, prioritise issues, delegate tasks, and attend to plant and machinery breakdowns as needed.
• Monitor equipment performance, implement improvement initiatives for machinery and site operations, and deliver on plant up-time and maintenance KPIs.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of engineering experience, preferably in a regulated environment with GMP standards.
• Recognised formal engineering qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or higher in electrical/ plumbing or mechanical engineering; HNC/HND preferred).
• Experience with electrical and mechanical fault-finding and repair.
• Knowledge of three-phase motor drives and production equipment.
• PLC fault-finding experience is desirable but not essential.
• 16th/18th Edition certification is desirable but not mandatory.
• Excellent problem-solving and team-working skills.
• Strong organisational and efficiency skills with the ability to work independently.

My client, an industry leading tier one civil engineering and construction firm are looking for a Quality Engineer to join their Rail division on a temporary contract in the North East of England.

This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the most prestigious rail projects in the North East of England.

Experience within the civil engineering industry is essential for this role, ideally coming from a main contractor background.

The Quality Engineer will:

• Ensure delivery teams progressively collate assurance evidence to certify the works
• Compile and review evidence for compliance against project specifications, drawings and industry standards
• Support the Quality Manager is reviewing Inspection & Test Plans and material approvals
• Interface with the supply chain to promote a right first time approach to works on site and ensure that Quality briefings are delivered regarding MSI standards and expectations for Quality
• Undertake site surveillance's to independently verify works are compliant
• Provide regular feedback to the delivery team Agent and Quality Manager on QA performance for the allocated sites
• Support the Quality Manager in the ongoing implementation of the project Quality Management Plan and integrated management system

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Highways Specification experience or Network Rail experience preferred
• Internal Auditor preferred
• PCQI preferred
• Have a wide understanding of the industry, including knowledge of materials, trades, methods and legal requirements
• Excellent working knowledge of industry techniques
• Good knowledge of relevant SHEQ requirements
• Be PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel, Adobe Acrobat
• Pro active, can do attitude
• Ability to work under own initiative with minimal supervision

Job Title: Mobile commercial gas engineer

I am currently working on behalf of a large FM and maintenance company, seeking an experienced and qualified commercial gas engineer. This will be a mobile based role covering commercial properties, in Northumberland. Ideally the candidate has experience working within commercial environments carrying out all areas of commercial gas maintenance and minor remedial tasks

As a Gas Engineer the post holder is responsible for planning and carrying out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs to Commercial/Industrial boilers and completing inspection and gas safety check certificates.

Main duties will include:

• Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance is carried out in line with task schedules, frequencies and industry best practices.
• Identify any defects found and provide parts list and estimated timescales to complete the defects.
• Ensure Boilers are transported and handled in accordance with current Health & Safety Regulations.
• Establish and maintain a good working relationship with all colleagues and customers.
• Carry out installation, repairs, maintenance and plan operational duties, working with the various systems and reporting as requested.
• Likely to be involved with appliances such as small scale plant rooms, centralised heating boilers, gas heaters etc.
• Likely to visit customer premises, (commercial), to fit, service and repair boilers and centralised heating systems that have broken down.
• Assessing, dismantling, repairing or replacing relevant parts
• Support the field service team and upkeep and maintain the various internal operational processes.

The Ideal candidate must have the following:

• Domestic Gas Qualifications - Desirable
• Commercial Tickets -Required
• Commercial Catering Tickets - Highly Desirable
• Experience working within commercial Environments
• Full UK Driving license
• IPAF & PASMA
• OFTEC will be desirable
• Multi-skilled experience within minor electrical / Fabric tasks
