Shift Pattern: Full-time, scheduled between 6am and 9pm including weekends.

AS A DUTY MANAGER / TEAM LEADER YOU’LL:


- Have at least 1 year experience working as a supervisor in hospitality or retail role.
- Take charge of creating a clean, welcoming atmosphere that surpasses customer expectations, consistently aiming to improve service.
- Guide and support your colleagues, maintaining a safe working and dining environment whilst being the go-to person for day-to-day queries.
- Coordinate team efforts. You'll oversee the unit's opening and closing, ensuring operational excellence, adhering to guidelines, and completing necessary documentation.
- Focus on operational efficiency, staying informed about unit performance, championing improvements and simplifying operations.

Responsibilities:

You'll take on a full-time role in the kitchen under the supervision of passionate chefs alongside your training. Not only do you gain a Level 2 Production Chef Apprenticeship, you will be able to support the running of our kitchens, creating some amazing moments making sure that quality never slips for our guests!

What your apprenticeship includes:

- A mixture of face to face and skype/phone catch ups every 4 - 6 weeks

- A mixture of on and off the job training, including workshops and webinars

- Reviews every 12 weeks with the Apprentice, Line Manager and Lifetime Trainer

- Feedback sessions to discuss progress

- Obtain Functional Skills in English and Maths (if you don't already have GCSE or equivalents)

- 30 hours paid work every week

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Cook / Chef to join the team of a succesful and popular Whitehaven town centre cafe.

You will be working 5 days per week (daytimes only – no evenings!) and (except during December) you get Sundays, and one other day of the week, off.

The food you will be preparing / cooking ranges from soups, pies, quiches and main meals to afternoon tea.

You will also have input into the menu and specials, giving you the opportunity to bring your own ideas to life.

Duties:

Prepare and cook a variety of dishes.
Assist in the planning and development of new recipes and menu items.
Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with food safety regulations and standards.
Supervising kitchen staff, providing guidance and support in food preparation techniques.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including proper storage of ingredients.
Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
Help train new kitchen staff on cooking techniques and safety protocols.

Experience:

Experience as a Cook or Chef or in a cafe, bar, restaurant or catering facility.
Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
A passion for cooking and creating great food for customers.

The Opportunity

As a Housekeeping Team Member, you will play an essential role in ensuring that our hotel is clean, comfortable, and inviting for our guests. Taking care of catering and dining services, we're one of the industry's largest and most innovative contract caterers. With menus available to pre-order and with in-app payment, Elior B&I have matched the tastes and dietary requirements of our four million daily customers with 21st-century tech.

What you'll be doing...

As a Chef Manager you will proactively manage teams on site as well as be accountable for recruiting, inducting, training, and supporting colleagues to deliver an efficient, high-quality service to Elior UK, our customer and clients.

Responsibilities:

• Motivating and managing a team
• Controlling and managing a budget
• Accountable for ensuring ongoing team communications, including building internal and external relationships, management reporting and client liaison to enable operational excellence

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm, 37.5 hours per week
