Major duties and responsibilities include:

• Works with researchers to determine their needs
• Performs analyses of research studies and clinical trial protocols to determine data requirements
• Designs application and data storage systems
• Evaluates clinical trial data reporting requirements and implements required changed, ensuring data integrity and information security assurance
• Conducts hardware and software analysis
• Analyzes clinical trials electronic data capture requirements for screening, randomization, kit assignment, serious adverse events, data collection, and reporting

Major duties of the Supervisory Health System Specialist (Corporate Compliance Officer) include:

• Responsible for the initiation and completion of administrative investigations and fact-findings as approved by the Health Care System Director.
• Directing, developing, implementing, and overseeing a multi-disciplinary, health-care-system-wide Compliance Section within the scope of the VHA mandated Privacy Program, Records Information Management Program, Conflict of Interest, and Compliance & Business Integrity (CBI) Program (which includes auditing, monitoring and creation of corrective action plan activities in the areas of coding, documentation, purchased care, exclusionary lists, conflict of interest, accuracy of patient registration, etc.), Controlled Substance Program, VHA policy related to Administrative Investigative Boards, VHA policy related to Access, and VISN equivalent of each of these programs.

IT Specialists (INFOSEC) are a mission critical occupation for HRSA. These positions are responsible for the analysis of system and/or security requirements, the development and implementation of mission critical applications for the agency's Information Technology operations.

As an IT Specialist - Info Sec - Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO), you will serve as a technical authority/subject matter expert for HRSA on matters involving the vulnerabilities and threats to HHS' information technology systems.

Your major duties and responsibilities will include:

• Developing/updating system security plans, risk assessments, disaster recovery, and contingency plans, incident response and additional system development life-cycle security documentation.
• Overseeing the security posture for one or more system(s) throughout the entire lifecycle; providing continuous monitoring through scheduled audits, controls testing, and audit reviews, and escalates issues as needed.
• Facilitating remediation/mitigation of weaknesses tracked on the Plan of Action and Milestones to reduce risk and address weaknesses to the system.
• Providing Continuous Monitoring support/guidance by reviewing security documentation, logs, scans and ensuring system backups are performed.

Refines and develops new red-teaming and safety-and-security evaluation software, products, workflows, and tools. Continuously adapts and improves techniques of red-teaming and evaluation, including to improve their efficiency and scalability. Collaborates with team members and across teams to develop innovative solutions to AI safety problems. Communicates complex AI concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Informs the development of technical guidelines and best practices for AI safety.

• Provide technical expertise to accomplish analysis of options and development of the design for advanced and complex IT systems on projects which typically involve analyses of systems with high visibility or widespread impact within the agency.

• Performs highly complex information technology (IT) work primarily involving design, development, testing, and evaluation of information security/cybersecurity activities (e.g., identity fraud investigations; analysis of identity fraud data, detection, investigation, mitigation, and threat reduction controls) throughout the development life cycle and testing, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of identity fraud related information security, information assurance, and cloud infrastructure hardware and software. 
• Serves as an authoritative subject matter expert on identity fraud analysis and investigations, managing and leading multiple highly complex and innovative cybersecurity projects and initiatives to improve Login.gov’s overall ability to detect, analyze, investigate, mitigate, investigate, and prevent identity fraud. 
• Provides technical expertise in cybersecurity and identity fraud analysis/analytics and investigations to support, consult with, or advise other government agencies with respect to Login.gov’s identity fraud analysis, analytics, and investigations practices and tooling.

Project Experience

• Plans, develops, and executes large scale identity fraud related cybersecurity and fraud investigations projects that transform the manner in which work is accomplished. Determines the size, skills, and roles necessary for teams to deliver products and identifies appropriate team members. 
• Provides expert technical advice, leadership, and direction on all assigned identity fraud analysis and investigations related initiatives for the improvement of associated Login.gov program operations. Determines project objectives, sets priorities, and identifies opportunities for improvements in fraud data analysis and identity fraud investigation practices.

Technical Expertise

• Provides technical expertise  in the design, development, and deployment of identity fraud related cybersecurity and cloud-based data analytics solutions leveraging current and emergent technologies and best practices. Mentors team members, as necessary, evaluates and improves team practices, and establishes and/or ensures compliance with standards.
• Plans, develops, and executes large scale identity fraud related cybersecurity and cloud-based data analytics projects that transform the manner in which work is accomplished. 

Relationship Management

• Serves as a liaison establishing and maintaining mutual understanding and cooperation with high-ranking stakeholders within TTS and other agencies to convey information regarding identity fraud related cybersecurity and cloud-based data analytics and fraud investigations activities, policies and goals; clarify investigatory and other related operations and procedures; and interpret directives as needed.
