In this vital role you will be an integral member of the DTI team working on an upstart program implementing Amgen's Structured Content Authoring and Generative AI solutions supporting the common technical document submission process in partnership with R&D/PD. We are seeking a leader with a collaborative style who leads by example and partners effectively with leaders across the broader DTI organization. The successful candidate will champion the DTI and R&D/PD strategies and build strong relationships with others who are drivers of innovation and sponsors/key partners for innovative investments.
The position is located in our offices in Thousand Oaks, CA, or Tampa, FL, or we can also consider remote applicants in a United States. Come join our team and be a part of something new that we can be proud of!
Role Responsibilities:
Executes within a program management framework across multiple projects and initiatives aimed at transforming the technology ecosystem supporting R&D and PD
Accountable for the successful implementation of key technology programs and projects, delivering iterative value and improvements
Develops and execute a strong program management and scrum discipline on the team to strengthen overall program operations, relationships, and knowledge of best practices in DTI including financial management.
Partners with cross-functional leaders to identify process interdependencies and solutions
Establishes success metrics and leading indicators to track program progress and effectiveness
Reinforces proper decision-making according to Amgen’s decision framework
Monitors and communicates progress and adherence to timelines; facilitates resource planning, financial planning and tracking, and capacity assessments
Provides technical & program/project leadership to the project teams in all project phases (design, delivery, startup, commissioning, validation and operational support) as well as oversight to ensure the program/project budget, schedule and staffing is commensurate to enabling the business objectives
Develops compelling business and technology investment proposals to advance business priorities

Basic Qualifications:
Doctorate degree
OR
Master’s degree and 3 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience
OR
Associate’s degree and 10 years of Information Systems experience
Or
High school diploma / GED and 12 years of Information Systems experience
And
Previous experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
Preferred Qualifications:
4-6 years project management experience leading multi-million dollar, multi-functional and highly technical programs, including financial management, crossing multiple geographies, preferably in Biopharma industry supporting a research and development organization
Background in health and/or life sciences and Information Technology
Scrum master certification - Experience with Agile Scrum and other iterative frameworks
PMP certification
Experience operating in a GxP validated environment
Experience working with senior executive leadership across essential functions and information systems
Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment and nurture strong business partnerships
Management of globally dispersed teams
Strong financial and planning skills combined with knowledge of related Amgen processes
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deal with constantly evolving priorities
