Assembly Technician required to build products using mechanical and electrical operation to full build then check their stringent quality standards have been met.
The ideal candidate will understand the quality control process and have experience ensuring product quality and assembly passes inspections from component to final product.
You will be able to assemble devices according to operative guidelines building products from blueprints and detailed instructions.
The role will include progressively checking items are fully assembled, that safety protocols are followed and any defects are reported. You will also help troubleshoot any recuring or production issues.

Tasked with investigating, developing, and implementing solutions to issues on the factory floor, the Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible in leading projects that contribute towards improving manufacturing efficiencies safely by utilizing lean manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques. The role will be focused around manufacturing processes for the Paint plant.

Main duties

Lead continuous improvement projects to improve manufacturing efficiency, capacity, and product quality.

Keep stakeholders updated on project progress.

Offer technical support to production and shop floor teams.

Improve Right First Time KPI and work towards a zero-defect culture.

Define and improve process capabilities.

Work closely with operations department to implement lean manufacturing techniques to find ways to eliminate wastes throughout the production system.

Improve efficiency through analysis and planning of workflow, space requirements, equipment layout and logistics flow.

Devise efficient systems that integrate workers, machines, materials, information, and energy to assemble the product.

Build and maintain strong professional relationships and establish strong feedback loops between production, quality, new product integration, design and customer service teams.

Assist with the planning, purchase and implementation of new equipment and technologies.

Consider new and innovative ideas to drive enhanced operational activities across the enterprise.

Skills and Requirements

Proven demonstrable experience in process/industrial/continuous improvement engineering.

Technical knowledge and experience of LEAN principles and other manufacturing theories

Problem solving experience using Root Cause Analysis, DMAIC or other techniques.

Exceptional self-motivation and a pro-active confidence needed to identify and prioritise work.

Project management skills and the ability to balance short-term firefighting with long term improvement projects.

Excellent understanding of engineering principles.

Good communication skills and the ability to produce clear, precise instructions.

Ability to work in a team or alone and unsupervised as needed.

A hands-on practical approach, ability to work with tools and machinery if required.

Knowledge of Health and Safety law and best practice.

Good stakeholder management.

Paint or process engineering knowledge would be appreciated whilst not required.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities:

• Maximise efficiency by planning and overseeing the production process, monitoring production performance and labour variance to optimize labour allocation in the timely manufacture of high quality food products.

• Meet all quality and regulatory standards, working with the quality assurance team to address and resolve any production issues that impact quality.
•
• Develop the production staff team, with regular performance reviews, feedback and support to foster a culture of food safety, quality and continuous improvement.

• Identify opportunity and drive change to optimize production processes, reduce cost and enhance efficiency.

• Work alongside the procurement team to manage production inventory and resource.

• Ensure compliance with all relevant food safety regulations, including HACCP, GMP, and FDA requirements. Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing health and safety protocols alongside SHE team.

• Maintain accurate production records and generate regular reports, prepare and manage production budgets (including forecasting and cost control) and manage standard operating procedures across the production function.

You'll be a great fit if you:

✔️ Have a minimum of 5 years experience in a production management role within the food manufacturing industry

✔️ Have experience with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies

✔️ Have a comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control standards

✔️Can demonstrate a good history of driving continuous improvement initiatives to boost efficiency and streamline processes

✔️ Are proficient in using production management software and tools

Requirements: To be able to use hand tools to a high standard and report any faults. You must be able to work alone and as part of a team . You would be given a job card to complete the work . This is a part time role working approx 3 days.
