POSITION SUMMARY:
The Social Media Intern will help curate the experience across Boston Medical Center’s campaigns, channels, and beyond to further increase awareness of our mission, values, and the impact we have on our patients. With a data-driven and creative approach, this role will support marketing initiatives by brainstorming and developing content to meet targeted goals and impact social media performance. Reporting to the Marketing Manager within the Marketing and Communications Department, the Social Media Intern is crucial in ensuring our content creation is consistently evolving to achieve our goals, reflect our culture, and provide value to our audience.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
- Draft copy, develop assets, and schedule posts for BMC social media accounts (TikTok, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Assist with community management across all social accounts
- Capture and edit photo and video content for social media posts
- Develop content for weekly social media series
- Contribute creative ideas for social media campaigns and content
- Participate in video and photography shoots on BMC’s campus
- Inform content strategy by pulling and analyzing metrics reports
- Stay up to date with social media trends and updates
- Support the team with various content/communication projects
- Manage stakeholder communication to curate engaging content that aligns with team goals

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
Undergraduate degree in business, communications, or design
EXPERIENCE:
1-2 years in social media management, marketing or creative development
TIME / PAY:
40 hours / week
$16.50 / hour
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Strong writing
- Experience working with social media for a brand
- Experience with project management
- Experience with a social media scheduling tool (ie Sprout, Meltwater, Hootsuite, Sprinklr)
- An eye for photography
- Strong understanding of video editing
- Ability to design graphics
- Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively multitask
