Job Description
The Roads Maintenance Team Leader will lead the team within the Roads section of Environment & Place.
You will be responsible for inspecting, controlling and monitoring operations within or affecting the public road network. Maintaining the quality and standards in the maintenance of the roads related infrastructure which includes carriageways, footways, kerbs, verges, road signs, drainage and street furniture. Provide timeous responses to customer service requests and enquiries. To partake in the delivery of the Winter Maintenance service as a Duty Supervisor.
The successful candidate will have a tremendous opportunity within an operational service team to make a difference by contributing to and improving the services we deliver throughout the Stirling Council area. Minimum requirements for the post are an SVQ in Highway Maintenance or equivalent and relevant demonstrable experience in a road maintenance environment.
The post will be a combination of office working and working outdoors carrying out road surveys, dealing with customer enquiries/complaints and service requests. It will involve a considerable amount of physical effort in walking whilst undertaking road surveys.
You will have a working knowledge and experience of this sector and a demonstrable understanding of best practice and innovation in Roads Maintenance Service operations together with an excellent working knowledge of health and safety and customer service. You will have a knowledge and understanding of Civil Engineering, Conditions of Contract, Method of Measurements, specifications and legislation associated with a roads service.
The ability to work within a busy multi-disciplinary team. A full driving license is essential.
