Serco work in partnership with the West Midlands Cycle Hire on behalf of Transport for West Midlands (TfWM) and the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA). We operate 1500 bikes and eBikes.
As the Redistribution Driver you will drive across the West Midlands redistributing Bikes and swapping batteries to increase customer hires and to collect abandoned or missing Bikes for return to the depot. You will work with Control Centre colleagues to ensure the maximum number of Bikes can be collected and redistributed for each shift, minimising lost time, and providing great service for our customers.
This is a role that is vital to the success of the West Midlands Cycle Hire Scheme, and we are looking for candidates that take great pride in their work and are committed to being the best ambassadors for our Service. Our Redistribution Drivers directly contribute to making Birmingham a greener place to live and visit and are responsible for making sure our Bikes are safe for all to use, so it is important that you are able to take that responsibility seriously and are a considerate and courteous driver.
You won’t be doing this alone either. Our team is made up of professional, friendly, and supportive teammates, including managers who began their careers with Serco as Operatives who now hold Team Leader, Supervisor, Operations Manager and Contract Manager titles.
We are dedicated to the ongoing development and career progression of our Operatives, with outstanding training opportunities made available to you, along with the chance to undertake additional qualifications. These include, but are not limited to, Health & Safety courses, Team Leader and Management training and a supportive management team who will provide guidance and advice to ensure you achieve all that you want to with Serco.
What do I need to do the role?
To be considered for a position within our team, you will have an interest in Bicycles and have held a driving license for at least a year with previous driving experience in the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
The ideal candidate will also be enthusiastic and dedicated, as well as be trustworthy, reliable, and flexible, have good problem resolution skills, be numerate and literate and have experience of working with IT software.
If you feel you meet the above criteria, please apply today, as applications will be reviewed as they come in and appointments made for successful candidates as soon as possible.
