This is a 2nd shift position - RAW side, Monday through Friday, with Saturdays & Sundays as needed, from 2:00 pm to 10:30/11:00 pm.  Applicants should be open to working on weekends and holidays as necessary. Additional compensation is provided for the 6th and 7th workdays.

This location is part of our Prepared Foods Division. As a production supervisor you’ll help make that happen. You can expect to your day to day include maintaining high production, quality, and yields while ensuring the safest working environment possible. This position requires an essential understanding and control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• You’ll build the best team possible. That includes Hiring, training, Retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems as well as educating your team on benefits, compensations, and company policies. You’ll guide the team in stretches before their shift and rotate workstations throughout the shift

• Checking daily production orders to ensure fulfillment of customer orders ensuring accurate shipments, record keeping, rotation of inventory, and proper coding of products.

• Ensuring all work stations on your line are staffed before start-up of production

• Ensuring all machinery is performing and all workstations have passed USDA Inspection

• Promoting safety daily as well as through monthly safety meetings

• Overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problems

• Providing continuous education on the importance of quality

• Performing other responsibilities as the need arises

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: High school diploma or GED.

Experience: Minimum one year of management/supervision experience OR minimum six months working as a Tyson Foods Line Lead or similar role.

Computer Skills: Basic computer skills

Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Special Skills: Strong leadership and problem-solving skills; strong work ethic and ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work well in a fast-paced environment.

Travel: Some travel is required. This could be to other facilities or to corporate.

Preferred Skills, but NOT Required: Knowledge of food industry, processes and equipment and technologies. Understanding of financial indicators / analysis and experienced in budget development / management.

• Must be able to work all three shifts to fill in for other supervisors when they are out.

Tasks:

• Assist Maintenance Supervisor as needed.

• Perform review rounds of other technicians.

• Lead and direct building maintenance technicians, in the absence of the supervisor.

• Identify and provide on the job training to the building maintenance technicians.

• Oversee the quality of work and completeness of the technicians.

• Complete emergency work in assigned area.

• Complete daily routines and preventative maintenance in assigned area.

• Complete work orders as assigned by the Maintenance Shift Supervisor.

• Be proficient in basic electrical repairs i.e. 110, 220, 277v light and ballast replacement, 120v outlet and 480 volt motor repair, utilizing a multi meter to check voltages to insure circuit is de energized before work begins.

• Possess basic plumbing abilities to address leaks, maintain drains, and other general plumbing fixtures.

• Ability to solder joints in copper piping up to 1” trade size as well as being able to assemble PVC piping for basic plumbing needs preferred.

• Sign out all inventory parts as utilized.

• Paint and perform structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, install drywall, paint, and furnishings of Buildings.

• Engage in the general cleaning and upkeep of buildings.

• Assist other departments as requested, including moving furniture, unloading, and storing supplies.

• Utilize power tools and basic electrical measuring devices.

• Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.

• Perform daily and weekly inspections of the facilities.

• Other duties may be assigned.

Physical Requirements: The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.

• Team Member must be willing and able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and 80 lbs (with assistance).

• Team Member will work at heights utilizing ladders, scaffolds, man lifts and portable lifting devices.

Requirements:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

• You must not exceed more than 7 attendance points.

• You must not have received a written warning within the last 3 months.

• No lateral transfer in the last 6 months.

• Must have good communication skills.

• SAP and fire monitoring knowledge preferred.

• 1 year experience working with Cat5, internet system and surveillance camera preferred.

• 1 experience working with shipping dock and roll-up doors preferred.

SUMMARY:

This position will supply managerial oversight of the manufacturing facility production function to include control of the production process, accurate record keeping, and general line maintenance and staffing.   This position will be responsible for the daily safety of the associated team.  The position must be able to effectively manage through stressful situations, and consistently make effective data driven decisions.  This position will be responsible for coordinating off-shift allocation of resources to ensure schedule adherence and customer service accountability.  Direct supervision of hourly manufacturing 20 to 35 FTE’s will be required at times.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Provide a safe workplace and comply with all safety and regulated programs.
• Ability to make decisions effecting financial and operational performance.
• The critical ability to perform the human relations functions such as training, retaining, and counseling on personal and professional problems.
• Maintain a tracking system that assists in analyzing KPI’s such as safety, schedule adherence, cost analysis, etc.
• Ability to work interdepartmentally and provide functional influence in a group setting to ensure operational goals are achieved.
• Develop and lead peer groups through project initiatives throughout the organization directly related to the operational goals and metrics of the facility.
• Continuous development of operations strategy.
• Identify and communicate process improvement projects.
• Other duties include overseeing various processing operations and working with other supervisors in solving problems and keeping accurate and timely records.  Providing continuous coaching and education on the importance of quality, food safety and compliance standards.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: High School Diploma required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.
• Experience: Three years minimum of management/supervision experience in a manufacturing environment, food manufacturing preferred. 
• Communication Skills: Requires strong written and oral communication skills, ability to work independently, and must be results oriented. Bilingual skills helpful.
• Computer Skills: Understanding of financial indicators / analysis and experienced in budget development / management. Basic personnel computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and Power Point.
• Supervisory Skills: This person is responsible for supervising a group of team members who perform various production tasks or activities.

SUMMARY:

This position requires proficiency in multiple skill clusters including electricity and electronics, fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. The position will perform high-level machine and systems troubleshooting and repair, assist engineering and plant staff with the specification, installation, and modification of integrated systems, and provide technical support for all phases of the operation.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Education: Training beyond high school including either an Associate (A.S.) degree in Electronics Technology (or closely related technical field), or a combination of education and experience which may include skilled trades programs or military training.
• Experience: 4+ years of automation experience and/or industrial maintenance experience.
• Computer Skills: Standard computer skills; must have strong skills in document organization, the use of technical materials, and research techniques. Must either be proficient or become proficient in SAP Maintenance.
• Communication Skills: Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing with all team members.
• Special Skills: Must possess the ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of management and operations personnel; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; with strong interpersonal skills.
