Team/Role Overview
The Cash Reconciliations team manage the reconciliation of incoming and outbound Issuer Services Payments over a number of different reconciliation platforms where we offer Depository servicing, Issuing & Paying agency services and Specialized Agency functions such as Account Bank, Project Finance, Structured Finance and Escrow Agent functions.
Any exceptions identified as part of the reconciliation process are required to be investigated / categorised and reported in accordance with Citi’s standard protocols. The team is responsible for identifying exceptions and actively investigating to resolution.
What you’ll do
The Section Manager is a senior management level position. You will be responsible for managing risk by overseeing cash reconciliations and exception management process. You will also lead the regional team, collaborating with colleagues in other regions and working with technology to incorporate enhancements and recommend/drive operational change and improvements. You will also:
- Review cash exceptions daily to ensure team is appropriately raising and resolving
- Identify, lead and mitigate operational risks and raise risk /services issues on a timely basis
- Provide detailed analysis of escalated issues when necessary and recommend actions for resolution
- Contribute to processing standards and expectations for securities and derivatives processing teams
- Develop and implement business plans, policies, and procedures that offer solutions and cost saving opportunities
- Propose solutions to implement settlement process improvements, enhancements, or overall technology enhancements
- Coordinate with internal and external clients to assess service quality and identify areas for improvement
What we’ll need from you
- Reconciliation experience
- Financial Services experience. Payments or documentation review experience would be of benefit.
- Ideally from an Operations background with a broad understanding of banking operations and securities.
- Knowledge of Agency and Trust Operations would be advantageous
- Strong investigative and analytical skills.
- A strong understanding of Operational Risk related functions and processes – payments experience.
- Proven ability to execute
- Excellent people management and leadership skills with team building capabilities
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills; ability to build and maintain effective networks and relationships.
- Proven ability to coach and develop talent
