Responsibilities / Tasks
GEA Westfalia Separator Ireland is the market leader in the supply and maintenance of Centrifuges to a wide variety of different industries in the Irish marketplace. We are looking to expand our Field service team with the addition of an electrical /automation engineer. Reporting to the Service Manager, the candidate will be involved in the electrical and software commissioning of new machines, maintenance and repair of existing installed base, and organising the construction of new control panels for refurbished machines.
The role:
The ideal candidate will have a background of electrical/automation support within a manufacturing/industrial business and have the following skills:
IO loop checking and electrical and software ( Siemens PLCs S7 TIA portal, Allen Bradley RS Logiox ,Studio 5000 ) commissioning of new installations.
Familiar with understanding electrical drawings including organising the build of new panels for refurbished machines.
Ability to modify control panel wiring.
Understanding of instrumentation, sensors , motors , drives ,speed relay set up and HART, 4-20mA, Profibus, ASI comms
Understanding of setting up Communication protocols Ethernet, Profibus, Anybus gateways
Logically work through diagnosing breakdown situations to return the machine to production as soon as possible
Potential for the correct candidate to drive our planned future digitalisation of our service offerings including remote condition monitoring and interactive apps.
Document all aspects of maintenance work carried out through written reporting and regular communication with the service manager.
Work as part of a team and be aware of all associated safety protocols in a variety of different Industries
Your Profile / Qualifications
What you'll need to succeed
Must have prior experience working within a manufacturing/industrial business.
A practical approach to fault finding together with a sound understanding of preventative maintenance is also required.
Good communication skills, enthusiastic, hardworking, and energetic.
Flexibility to meet peak work demands as required
Able to deal with pressurised situations and remain calm and focused.
Ability to manage time and perform duties to strict customer driven deadlines
Successful applicants will be expected to work as part of a flexible, committed, and self-motivated maintenance and servicing team and occasionally attend product training in Headquarters in Germany
Driving licence and the ability to travel to different customer sites
