- Makes and repairs wooden supply, storage, and shipping containers such as boxes, crates, etc., which typically require complete custom building involving complex construction plans and work procedures.
- Serves as a working leader and journeyman wood worker to three or more workers.
- Performs a wide variety of standard and specialized preservation and/or packing work. Uses various protective cushioning and bracing techniques for custom packing of a variety of items including hazardous materials to ensure safe and damage free movement.
- Uses and maintains various types of hand and/or power tools, such as nail and staple guns; hand, radial, and circular saws; hammers, joiners, squares, operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lifts capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches to facilitate loading and unloading duties.
- Performs duties in a safe manner, utilizing safety practices and procedures, and complying with established safety rules and regulations. Plans and carries out shipping arrangements and conducts pre-and post-audits and maintains shipping documentation.
