As a Disability Support Worker at Vivability, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. You will provide compassionate care and support, promoting independence, and facilitating personal growth. Your responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
1. Personal Care: Assisting clients with activities of daily living, such as personal care, bathing, dressing, and grooming.
2. Emotional Support: Providing companionship and a listening ear to clients, helping them build social connections.
3. Medication Management: Administering and documenting medication as prescribed.
4. Assistance with Mobility: Assisting clients with mobility aids and helping them move safely.
5. Household Tasks: Supporting with light housekeeping, meal preparation, and other household chores.
6. Transportation: Safely transporting clients to appointments, activities, and outings.
7. Documentation: Maintaining accurate and detailed records of client care and progress.
8. Collaboration: Working closely with other team members, healthcare professionals, and families to ensure comprehensive care.
Requirements:
• Compassion and empathy for individuals with disabilities, and their families
• High school diploma or equivalent; additional qualifications in disability support are a plus.
• Clear criminal background check and valid driver's license.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to follow care plans and work independently.
• Physical stamina and ability to assist with lifting and transferring clients when necessary.
