Based in Hanslope Park, Milton Keynes or Whitehall, London, with two days a week in the alternative office. Full time, with four days a week on site and depending on the workload, one day working from home
Have you ever thought about joining an organisation that operates on a global scale to deliver a first-class service for the UK government and our international partners? Where you’ll have the opportunity to develop your career with a team that supports the ROSA system, a cross-government IT platform that allows over 80 departments to share data securely. If you’re looking for your job, but bigger, this could be your next move.
As a trusted government partner we work on a huge range of projects, and help protect the UK’s interests around the world. We design and construct secure government buildings. We help earthquake-proof embassies. We courier diplomatic packages across continents. We keep complex projects on track, and on budget. And a whole lot more besides. It’s important work, and you could take your career to new heights as you focus your talents on a wide range of exciting projects.
Use your skills to train and develop our people to use the ROSA IT system
When you join us in this important role, you’ll be one of two Deputy Heads of the ROSA Management team, and focus on training and development. Your key tasks will involve delivering ROSA training courses, acting as an SME across all the ROSA disciplines, producing management information reports, and ensuring all service documentation and procedures are recorded accurately. We’ll expect you to make recommendations on ways to improve the training we offer, maintain your own professional expertise, and keep all our training materials and processes up to date.
Committed to customer service and driving performance of the highest quality, you’ll also coordinate the day-to-day development and work of the team, and resolve any service issues that arise. The team’s other Deputy Head manages asset delivery and there’ll be times when you’ll deputise for each other, so it’s important that you have a good understanding of this area of our work.
Work in a dynamic environment that’s focused on responding to global crises
Trained and accredited to Cabinet Office Standards as a ROSA Trainer and Laptop Pool Manager, and with plenty of leadership and line management experience, you’ll be working in an exciting and dynamic environment as you respond to live crises around the globe. With this in mind we’ll expect you to be calm under pressure, extremely flexible, and capable of using your superb communication and influencing skills to make highly effective decisions.
It’s important that you have good SharePoint administration and development skills, excellent knowledge of the MS Office suite of software, and the ability to deliver both classroom and remote training classes. A Level 3 certificate or diploma in Learning and Development would be a bonus, as would membership of a relevant professional body and experience of leading small, tightly knit teams.
Grow your career in the biggest way possible
When you join us, you’ll be contributing to protecting the nation’s interests at home and overseas. How will we help you in return? We offer a competitive salary, 25-30 days’ annual leave per year (depending on length of service) and a Civil Service pension. Depending on business need, we can accommodate some hybrid working between the office and home. While on-site, you’ll have access to an on-site gym, nursery, canteen, and we offer interest-free loans on season tickets and bikes to help you get there. Above all else, we can offer your job, bigger. As Senior ROSA Support Specialist you’ll be using all your skills with an organisation that protects people, information and assets around the world. Using your skills in a way that just means more.
Every single colleague must be security cleared before joining us. If you’re successful in your application, we’ll ask you to undergo our vetting process. You can find out more about this on our website: https://www.fcdoservicescareers.co.uk/how-to-apply/
