Ferguson is seeking an Outside Sales Representative based in the Seattle-Tacoma, WA geography to work within our Strategic Initiatives Group (SIG). The core focus for this role with be small to medium mechanical pump stations, water & waste treatment plant facilities, and industrial design build for major infrastructure projects throughout greater Washington. Contractors and Owners within this market space across North America come to Ferguson for our experience and reliability in the waterworks industry, and we are expanding this presence through the Pacific Northwest.

Job Function and Responsibilities

• Work with the Strategic Initiatives Group to prioritize and collaborate with local and national teams to provide project quotations and proposals.

• Develop and manage relationships with vendors and an assigned customer base, including key accounts.

• Ability to negotiate with vendors and manufacturers.

• Be part of the problem-solving process, value engineering, and take part in conversations regarding changing market conditions.

• Supervise sales strategies and manufacturer alignment to develop market specific pricing during pre-bid through post-bid opportunities.

• Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field.

• Ability to read and understand construction documents including project specifications, drawings, and change orders.

• Work with other branch personnel to ensure customer satisfaction from the order to the delivery and beyond.

• Work with pre-bid and post-bid teams to ensure accuracy of the final quoted scope reflects the expected needs from customer to customer.

• Own your projects from start to finish with collaboration and oversight with specific team members.

Qualifications

• 5+ years industry related sales experience is required.

• A successful associate will be results oriented, self-motivated, able to complete tasks in a timely manner, build relationships and enjoy a team environment.

• Strong technical background and experience in water and / or wastewater industry preferred.

• Excellent communication, time management and organizational skills.

• Problem solving, leadership and listening skills.

• General digital literacy.

• Travel required with overnight trips, up to 25%.

This is a commission eligible role with no cap on commission potential. The estimated total compensation range is $90,000 - $140,000 + annually.

The opportunity:

Ferguson is looking to hire motivated Sales Support Representatives who have the desire to build a long-term career with the organization.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• This position supports the waterworks customer group
• Assists in multiple behind-the-scenes sales functions such as answering sales calls for general information, addressing and resolving customer concerns or questions, and helping customers by recommending the best products and solutions to support their needs
• Providing hands-on assistance on an as-needed basis such as helping assist customers on the parts counter and providing backup support in the warehouse
• Presents job quotes and provides accurate pricing and inventory information to customers
• Uses customer relationship management (CRM) system and phone system effectively
• Works together with Sales associates to provide outstanding customer service for both existing and prospective customers

What you need to succeed?

• 0-3 years sales and/or customer service experience preferred
• Supply house experience is a plus
• Salesforce experience a plus
• A desire to learn with a drive to succeed
• Passion for collaboration and desire to assist customers across the team
• Ability to build long-lasting relationships while balancing business and customer needs

Ferguson is seeking a Waterworks Outside Sales Representative to fill an immediate need with growing market opportunities. This is a field-based sales role supporting customers in the New Jersey Treatment Plant Market. This position will be remote based and require travel throughout New Jersey. A fuel card, auto allowance, travel and expense card, company cell phone & laptop will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and an assigned customer base, while working with other branch associates to ensure happiness with our products and services, from the order to the delivery and beyond.

• Identifies and actively pursues new business opportunities to expand the current customer base by working with management in developing sales strategies and new account targeting.

• Perform various duties including product quotation and problem resolution.

• Analyzes competition in territory, devise sales strategy, and communicate sales strategy to management.

• Continually improve sales skills and product knowledge to promote a professional image in the field.

• Documents all sales activity performed in our internal Customer Relationship Management tool (Salesforce) for ongoing evaluation of the new business pipeline and measurement of sales closure results.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 years industry related sales experience is preferred

This is an on-site opportunity at our Chandler location and also includes oversite of locations in Arizona, Southern Nevada and El Paso, TX.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on and align to Ferguson HR strategy and operating model. Network with US-based HR to establish and implement consistent practices, processes, and metrics in support of the HR strategy and goals

• Effectively partner with site operations leadership to ensure implementation of HR initiatives, programs, systems, and other HR elements are well implemented and drive achievement of site operational goals and objectives.

• Contribute to the development and implementation of HR site goals/objectives, projects, and systems.

• Responsible for ensuring all aspects of associate performance management systems, processes and procedures are in place and equitably performed, through site leadership, in line with company policies and expectations.

• Work with shared services to use resources for execution. Develop partnerships for recruiting and hiring practices, inclusive of ensuring effective on-boarding, for all newly hired associates, as well as employee and leadership development. • Support HR annual process execution including performance management, compensation, workforce, and talent planning,

• Ensure timely administration of HR-related documents in accordance with established guidelines so that HR related matters are administered quickly and accurately and in compliance.

• As a member of the site leadership team, participate in related meetings and represent/review local business needs, policies, guidelines, and associate interests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required

• 5+ years of Human Resource experience with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working as a site HR Manager and/or Partner to line operations.

• Prior working experience in an industrial environment with a large hourly population.

• Experience with union avoidance

• Experience in supply chain and specifically distributions centers a plus.

• Proven track record with HRIS and Microsoft platforms. Workday knowledge a plus.

• HR certification/license is desired.
